I read somewhere that since he took over, his side have been 7th in the form table. He does love that number.

Clash of the titans today between Bébe and Moyes. I have simpathy for both so it´s difficult to choose who to root for. Hopefully it will be a good match (probably won´t be though, either 0-0 or 1-0 to Moyes boys).

Wasn't sure where to post this. Maybe in the has the EPL regressed thread but here's Moyes's thoughts on the EPL.

Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has described this season's Premier League as the poorest he has seen "in a long time".

No English clubs have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, compared with three from Spain.

"Maybe we have talked up the Premier League more than we should," the 51-year-old Scot told BBC Radio 5 live.

Moyes, now in charge at Real Sociedad, also questioned the English habit of spending big sums of money on players.

"Of course, the top clubs in Spain spend a lot, but the other teams can't," the ex-Everton boss said.

"Atletico [Madrid] have had financial difficulties over the years but they have still reached finals. Valencia, Villarreal, they have have got quite far in the Europa League.

"So maybe we do go over the top about our league. This year it is probably the poorest Premier League I've seen in a long time."

Moyes, who revealed he turned down "three or four" job offers in order to go to Spain, also called for more English managers to move abroad.

"We import an awful lot of foreign managers but we don't export enough, yet I think British managers are as good as those in any country," he added.

I hope he doesn't go to West Ham or Newcastle in the summer.

Would benefit from staying at Sociedad for a few seasons.

3 red cards for Cordoba in the end, 2 of them were straight reds (6th min and 93rd min), another was a second yellow in the 81st. However I can't see where that player got his first yellow according to flash scores.

He got both yellows in the same minute accoring to an app I use.

Up to ninth anyway, 3 points behind Bilbao!

Looking forward seeing him replacing Ancelotti at Real. Seriously now he has done well and with some very good highlights such as beating Barcelona and mantaining a clean sheet. Real Sociedad were a right mess before he replaced Arrasate. They are very solid and organized now and that´s obviously Moyes work. Very curious on how he will do in the next year and specially what he will buy to upgrade the team. That will be a real test.

Good on him. Hope he continues to be a success at Sociedad, because before him, they had a nightmare with finding the right manager. Give him time, and I think he'll have Sociedad like Everton, in terms of league position (5/6th every year).

Moyes finished 7th with Everton in his first season in charge, despite them flirting with relegation the year before.

He finished 7th with United in his first season in charge, despite them being runaway champions the year before.

It wouldn't surprise me if he finishes 7th this season or next with Sociedad also which would be great for them and fair play to him if he does it. But i think it would confirm the theory that he is a mid-table specialist.

That will be hard with teams like Sevilla, Villareal and Athletic Bilbao. I think if guides Sociedad to 8th or 9th it can be considered a good work.

Why would a Spanish club want to sign English players though? It's unlikely you'd get bang for your buck like you would buying locally. Unless they can sign players out of contract of course, maybe that's what they mean.
