Yeah I was one of those banging the table last season that he was still very good for us even if he wasn't "prime Ronaldo", and he even had some serious match winning performances down the stretch. But my god from the first kick this season he's looked like a complete shell. Finishing is off (which is the one thing he's in the team for), he's a step slow reacting, movement is easier for defenders to track, and has the Rooney symptom of looking technically poor now that his legs have gone. He's strictly an immobile poacher now, except that he's not banging in the chances he gets.
Was notable in that Europa league game we played that he missed a boatload of chances that his confidence was waning too, it was like he was shocked that he didn't still have the magic he had for years and his body was failing him.
