For Japan everything has just been so disappointing.

Players: before any individual issues, they seem to be out of shape. They just seem to be not able to move around the pitch so much.

Coach Zacceroni: the fans are being disillusioned, somewhat similar to when the team was losing continuously around the middle of last year. Indecisiveness in substitutions, like being late to put in Okubo in the game against Ivory Coast. Confusion in player utilization, moving players around and using them in positions we've never used before in the WC after four years of preparation. Not being able to direct the players to play an effective attack against the ten-men Greeks but instead instructing them to play long high balls which was never successful even in test matches. Leaving one sub unused when he could have put in Saito, the dribbler, for a change of pace...

Players' confidence in the themselves and the coach is bad. They had to cancel training for a change of mood this week.

Just want them to show a good fight in the last game. Just do the best you can, don't regret later we could have or should have played some other way.

According to some sources, Kakitani might start as CF and Aoyama as CM, but we never know.

Expecting Colombians will be using players who haven't started before but they'd still be very good. Any chance they might not want to win considering their next opponent? :D

Japan have to just go for it. They can't be careful or indecisive. Even if they win, it might not be enough because of goal difference, so they have to score goals. If Ivory Coast win their game, then it's over regardless. Still, it's better to go out with style...

Uruguay are not all that. Plus Suarez might even be suspended. Probably not though.

Probably the best team Japan could field right now. Kakitani has not been the same player in 2014, and they need a few changes in CM, so the Aoyama inclusion makes sense, even though he's pretty fresh.

Impressive line-up from Colombia. I don't expect them to have problems even without James. Should be lots of goals in this.

Should be a good game. I expect Colombia to sit back and use their great counter attacking threat, while Japan search for some goals.

Not sure whether to watch this game or the other one tonight. This is quite an interesting group though because there's still 3 teams that can go through.

So far Dion Dublin has called Nagatomo: Nagamoto and Nagamomo. How many other variations are left?

The Norwegian commentators have also failed to pronounce Okubo's name during this world cup. Okubu, Okobo, Okobu... His name is Okubo goddammit! It's not that hard!

Wonderful to see that Quintero is starting. Wouldn't bet against him earning himself a starting berth for the next round. Wonderfully talented footballer, a bigger talent than even Rodriguez imo.

All teams can go through at this time. Greece just needs to win and hope that Japan doesn't win ther match.

Good call! At least one Portuguese is doing his job in the World Cup.

Cuadrado just did Bale's trademark celebration which he in turn copied from Pato.

Rodriguez more established at this time but Quintero needs a consistent season. Hope this helps him top top talent

Kagawa and Nagatomo are the only Japanese who are at least trying to match the physicality of the Colombians as they play in quite physical leagues. The rest are just being pushed over

Japan have probably been the biggest disappointment of the tournament for me. Expected them to qualify from this group and give most a good run but it's just not happened. All started so well in the first game as well but just went downhill from there, such a shame.
