Poor David Raum looks like Phil Jones's slightly better looking little brother.
Ochoa dived and committed to that side before the ball was kicked too. Most of the time the penalties are just rolled into the goal now after the keeper has already dived.
Yes if a penalty is hit hard and in the corner then you aren't saving it anyway. Look at Gundogans penalty, look at Messis penalty. No power, in the middle of the goal and a nice height. Simple to save if you just stay still.
The Mexican keeper saved Lewandowski's by doing exactly that.
Sit still, make them actually work for it. If they hit the side netting then fair enough.
They are getting physically outmuscled by german press.Japan are another side whose decision making has been shocking. Every time they’re away the player takes too long and plays a crap ball.
First 15 minutes it was mostly the other way round. They are getting physically outmuscled by german press.

You’d think there is nothing happening judging by the atmosphere.
Would love to have him in this team ^^Kimmich trying to pass to choupo moting.
It should be done how Lloris(?) saved Jorginho's penalty technique this season or last one. Feign one way, make them commit their shot to the other side and shift to the other side yourself.Peter Shilton went his whole career using the technique you're suggesting.
He saved 3 penalties out of 50-odd.
Would love to have him in this team ^^
Have Japan managed to string 2 passes together? Seriously poor this from them when there's a lot of good technical Japanese players around
They have 19% possession and a pass success rate of just 58% - so statistically the answer to your question is "very rarely".Have Japan managed to string 2 passes together? Seriously poor this from them when there's a lot of good technical Japanese players around
Germany look a bit dodgy defensively, so far - Think teams can get at them there.
