It's encouraging, really wish the club got him signed up to a new contract before the WC. I wouldn't be surprised if they wait to the end of the window to save the upgrade on wages. Get your finger out Woody.

Contrast his reaction to that of Pogba's. Now, I have no problem with Pogba, but this man needs to be in the running to be our new captain.

He is barely 27 at already have 300+ appearance for us. If RM sign another keeper then pretty sure he will stay with us whole his rest of the career. Future Captain and Future legend. He is going to have at least 1000 appearance for us .

I'm surprised he's still with us, but obviously very glad. Didn't think a few years ago we'd get to this point and he'd still be here.

Not worried about him leaving in the foreseeable future either. We're very lucky indeed.

That should suffice the caf until he's pictured wearing a white T-shirt, then the panic will start all over again.

I agree. He'll be the longest serving regular starting player at the club (assuming Valencia will be rotating a lot with Dalot) and is undoubtedly the best player at the club and is as professional and respected as they come. New contract, captains armband and being only 27 with over 300 appearances already he's got a chance to be probably be in the top 4 or 5 list for most United appearances.

He is happy because he’s a guaranteed starter, lives a quiet life relative to his job (it wouldn’t be like that in Spain), and quite frankly, he is and probably always will be the highest paid GK in the world

It's not that he accused him directly. He said he was not comfortable seeing De Gea in the goal of the national team, and that despite the presumption of innocence he had to be on the side of the victim. Let's see if for the next game he takes his hands out of his pockets hehe

Don't get your hopes too high up. If De Gea has a successful World Cup especially if he is the hero in a penalty shootout like doing a Tim Krul ala Netherlands penalty shootout win over Costa Rica in the last World Cup, you can bet every dollar you have that Perez will do everything to get him.

If the player is happy and the club don't want to sell I'm not sure what Perez can do really?

Do you really think that Dave deep down inside doesn't want to move to Real Madrid? If Real really pushes for a move for him, I suspect he would go. Thank god Navas is actually a competent keeper.

I can only go off what he says and the fact he isn't pushing for a move. No one is holding a gun to his head to make him stay and publicly force him to say it?

He was but now i think he dont. Last summer Jose made it clear he can leave but he didnt. And no, Real never really pushed a move for him. They lowballing him every transfer window with late offered every time.

I think Dave's moved on. I suspect he feels Madrid sabotaged that deal and didn't do all they could to get him and that put him in a bad position being benched by Van Gaal and possibly falling out with our fans and then they low-balled and came too late. Looks a bit suspicious to me. Then you've got the press in Spain and he's been pretty vocal about the Footballing public in England and Spain. He likely was touched by how our fans welcomed him back, loves his new contract (and will love a new one even more) and how the Football public in England receives him. He's stuck around through some tough times and probably sees us entering a good period and he wants to be part of it.

Even if he was mildly interested anymore he'd cost probably twice what they'd be willing to pay and before you know it the seasons started and he's signing a new 4+1 contract.

This is my exact view too. I’ve never been less concerned about de Gea leaving.

I think he's our least likely regular to be moving that's how relaxed I am. I was relaxed last summer but not the two before that. All we need now is Madrid to snap up Allison and even the people who are scared will finally come around to our way of thinking.

Legend! Like Schmeichel. Gotta be worth at least 15 points per season.

So we're gonna bump this thread every time Navas concedes a goal?

Still no new contract and we're being linked with the dud Pickford. This isn't heading in the right direction :(

I don't know why Real Madrid want him. By all accounts he is a terrible keeper. I can't believe how gullible Madrid are to listen to the fans and pundits about how great he is. They should stick with Navas, he is definitely the better keeper. DDG is just a fad. United only keep him because of the amusement factor - we play terrible football so we need something to laugh about. Here is my advice to you Mr. Perez. Go ahead and sign Courtois if you want a better kepper. Far better player than DDG.

The weirdest thing about your post was seeing that you signed up on Christmas Day. Da hell?

Agreed. Perez must realise how massively over rated De Gea is. Navas is much better and they should stick with him
