Hahahahaha. Yes because those three you mentioned trained with Cavani over the last 6 months to prepare him for this league. Fool. Where was the rest of the league the last 3 months or Europe for that matter? How did such a superstar go under the radar? Because he's been fecking injured for the last 8 months, is 33 and is coming out of the french league.
Well you sound like a charming well balanced fella  Let me introduce you to the ignore list.

In all honesty if and that's a big if, he can stay fit there is a chance he could end up being our first choice striker

Choupo Moting was starting over Cavani, too. So that makes your analogy even worse.
Cavani was injured for most of the season declaring that he wouldnt play. That's like Inter using Lukaku's goal record with Ole to judge him

If he was really good, PSG would have made him a key part of their plans...

It says something that they didn't want him anymore.

If he is coming as a sub for Greenwood, that's fine, but not sure i'd like him as the main starter

I think psg were having issues with ffp, hence why they were very tight with their budget this summer and probably thought best to let cavani go to reduce their wage bill.

So no good players ever leave on a free transfer? Leaving in a free is not an indication of not being any good.

whats this supposed to mean?

Now he says there have been many lies about him and his brother, who works as his agent.

“Many things were said without knowing because people speak behind a microphone and a keyboard. It hurt me, not because I live from those comments, but because of the evil that social networks sometimes do. That’s why I was glad that all this has come out.”

Cavani even made an Instagram post yesterday saying he was ‘happy’ for his brother.

“A business is not worth more than a bond of siblings and nothing is negotiated with principles of life that, in a small message, I was able to make clear. Let each one be where they want to be. I did it to leave a positive message for young people who can follow me.”

The striker says he used to watch Diego Forlan playing for Manchester United, and now his idol helped him by telling good things about him.

“Diego, when he had to give references about me, he did it, he said very good things.”

“It’s okay to dream, but I like to wish things better. Dreaming seems fantasy, but wishing things makes you see them more real.”

Been left out of the Uruguay squad on the basis he's not anything like match fit. Not overly promising for us for Newcastle game and beyond is it? Martial suspended and Cavani won't be ready.

Greenwood, Rashford and Dan James as the front 3 ???

I thought he was meant to be left out because the Uruaguay manager said he was way off fitness - but did he actually travel with the squad? I hope not, if he can make it to OT and get into training from now at least he can have 3 weeks under his belt before Chelsea.

Or just play with 2 up front.

I could be wrong but no I don't think he travelled.

I imagine he's training with the squad members who didn't get a call up for national squads like AWB etc.

Possible. I often forget about ffp mainly because United doesn't seem to have problems with it

That's fine then. The national coach said he is way, way off fitness. But he has done a good job it seems personally in terms of getting up to speed. I think 2 weeks training may get him on the bench, but not a starting spot.

Yeah I can't see how he can start at Newcastle. Probably get 15 / 20 mins off the bench at best. Maybe then could get 30 mins in the one after. By the time he's fully up to speed Martial will be back.

Crazy situation to leave a free transfer till deadline day. I still don't get it. Still don't think he was the plan.

Think Cavani deserves so much more respect than a lot are giving him. Seeing Mark Goldbridge saying he'd rather we had signed JOSH KING for example. People talking like we'd bought in Shola Ameobi or somebody.

Cavani is an elite level striker. According to Wikipedia he scored 200 goals in 301 games for PSG. That's an insane record. And this is someone being signed as backup. In 2018-19 he scored 27 goals in 42 games for club and country. But apparently he's "old and past it." He is younger than Jamie Vardy, still one of the best strikers in the Premier League. Younger than Luis Suarez. Only slightly older than Messi. Younger than Ronaldo. Younger than Giroud who still does a job.

And he's being written off as "injury prone" too. 301 appearances for PSG over 7 seasons. Average 42 games a season. Yet people are referring to him as some kind of Jack Wilshere or Andy Carroll type. Gareth Bale barely played last season yet Spurs are hyped over his signing.

People even angry that he gets the number 7 shirt as though he doesnt deserve it. Again he's an elite striker and is a massive upgrade on Ighalo.

It can't be good for our players if half the fans almost seem to want them to fail.

They have Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria, Icardi and Sarabia battling for their front 3 in all fairness.

It's funny listening to people whinge about his age when he's the same age as Messi and 2 years younger than Ronaldo, both of whom had incredible seasons last season. Did anyone mention Messi's age when there was a chance he'd leave Barca? I'm not comparing talent, but if you look after yourself you can be just as good at 33 as anyone
Of the three of them, one did not have an incredible season last season. That’s the one we’ve signed. Let’s just leave it there, unless we want to name some more 33 and 35 year olds and make comparisons with two of the greatest players of all time.

Can he play the next 3 games? and is he still playing for the national team?

It would be more ideal if he was in Manchester training for 2 weeks rather than globe trotting for a daft friendly.

We all love United
No pictures of him in the United kit so far. I would have thought the marketing department would be releasing them as soon as he was confirmed

Thought this too but I think they're keeping low profile today, they probably want a day without #WoodwardOutGlazersOut trending.

He's not in the squad for Uruguay I think. Unsure if he's travelled, I doubt he has.

Don't think hel be fit enough for Newcastle but we will need to wait for Ole to give some hints. I think an appearance for Chelsea is more likely.

What did he do last season?

I wonder why they didn’t keep him on as a backup to Mbappe but who knows?

If fit I think he has 15-20 goals in him. Which is massive to be fair, when we have Rashford+Martial+Greenwood capable of similar figures.

The answer to most questions when it comes to transfers, money. PSG is having to trim a lot of their fat, and he was part of it at that point despite being a legend for the club. I don't put extra fear on a player being injured here and there, but in Cavani's case, I believe two of his latest injuries happened without any contact, including one where he kicked the ball, so at his age it is probably best for PSG to let him continue his career elsewhere.
