Just say 'From what I have seen they are great players and their positions will be decided as I finalize the structure of the team in the coming weeks'

There are other ways to praise the player and say he'll be a good captain rather than saying something which isn't true though.
Unless by "success" he means something different due to English not being his primary language.
Because that is the right thing to say if you want to push an under performing players. Maguire might be shit but let's not rule out how many finals we were close to and how well England has performed while he has been captain. Maybe that's what Ten Hag sees. Surely the right thing to say would be along the lines of - he's determined, strong mentality, resilient and hungry to lead this team to success. He has my full support.
