Leverkusen could have scored 6 if they were more clinical or serious

They will win the small treble without a single loss in all competitions, won't they?

Surely Olympiakos' red and white striped kit would be easier to pick out against the Villa kit than that monstrosity they're wearing!

Wife just shouted “F#CK OFF YOU IDIOT” at Douglas Luiz … could have sworn he played for Villa?

Also shouting dogs abuse at the Olympiacos players for delaying the penalty. Oh the irony?! (which I didn’t point out because I’m not suicidal)
Make her a drink. And give her a massage afterwards!

Villa just about got past Lille the other week, they’ve got a lot of work to do if they want to win anything next season.

Thought the same. Seems silly playing in that kit when a far more distinguishable one is available

Roma had a Mourinhoesque meltdown after Karsdorp made it 1-0 but damn Leverkusen looked 3 levels above tonight. They'll get massacred in Germany too

Atalanta struggled tonight against OM, a team whose pensioner manager actually bothered to look them up and figure out what they're about, despite not having faced them 4 years ago...

Third time's the charm for the Conference. After getting Roma, Feyenoord, Fiorentina and West Ham in its first two editions, this time around it finally gets the kind of final that REALLY makes you think "Conference League" with Brugge and Olympiakos

Which is absolutely great I think. A European competition that can actually be won by a team that's not one of the typical big names.

It is! The farmers league should give us all-farmers finals :drool::drool:

None of that faux Uefa Cup bs of the previous years

Small treble. They've won the domestic league, cup and the European competition they've been in all season (not like they dropped into it either like AC Milan).

To win them all without potentially losing a game that's a phenomenal season when you look at the other treble winners in those periods. In 2013 Bayern Munich had their extraordinary treble season. Lost two CL dead rubbers to Borisov and Arsenal and one Bundesliga match.

If so, Xabi Alonso should be knighted (by his home country of course). One could argue that getting Leverkusen their first ever title would be deserving of that. I already said that he should get the freedom of the city of Leverkusen.

Brugge has been doing ok in Europe these last few years by Belgian standards. Still remember our game that ended in a draw at thé Bernabéu fondly :)

It's strange how the "strongest league in the world" can't dominate Europe. I guess all those foreigners who "lack the physicality" to play in the "strongest league in the world" find other ways to make up for it when routinely knocking out English clubs

The whole point of the Conference League was that big clubs in smaller football countries had a shot at being in the top 8 as opposed to the CL which is almost a closed super club shop. That said, It's still surprising how the 4th place in the PL can be made to look so pedestrian by the 4th place in the Greek league.

On the highlights Villa seemed pretty unlucky. Should probably have had another penalty and the disallowed goal at 0-0 looked very harsh so could have easily been 4-4. Some bad defending/keeping for all 4 goals conceded too. Definitely seemed like they missed Martinez massively, reckon he would've saved the 2nd and 4th goals.

Olympiacos are a weird team though. They have a decent record against English clubs, including yourselves and Arsenal.
