Maddison is a very average player. Great highlights player but not much more than that. I wonder which club will be scammed into paying £50m+ for him.

Europa league exit at the group stage and 11th in the Premier league, looks like Leicester under Brendan Rodgers peaked with that FA Cup win.

So have I got this right, the team who finish second go into playoffs against teams who have dropped down from CL. Teams who finish third in EL groups drop down into dreaded Europa Conference League.

Ivan Schranz is such a good name though, would make a great techno DJ moniker

TBF, dropping down to ELC is better suited their level, now that Sevilla, Barcelona, Dortmund, Leipzig, Porto... dropped down to EL. Leicester would have a better chance to go far in ELC in comparison to getting one of those teams in the earliest KO of EL had they went through in second place.

They bottled the chance to progress further in EL, but they wanted the victory to progress at the top. A draw to progress as second placed is not good enough. Playing away to Napoli makes it even tougher.

Union-Slavia 1-1 now. Union need another goal to progress.

Hope they score another. Just to be able to further ridicule the Big City Club.
I was ogling the opportunity to catch a knockout game against some sad big club like Roma or Leicester (Spurs didn't make it..).. as opposed to the Försterei it should be possible in the Olympiastadion

The fact that Union is playing in "Hertha's" stadium is probably enough insult. Imagine if they stay in top4 and advertise with "finally the CL returns to the Oly"

Union kind of don't deserve to win this game though. In Slavia, their sit back and hoof approach has definitively found its master.

Vitesse-Mura finishes 3-1. That basically means if Spurs beat Rennes at home, they're through.

Well done Zvezda, going through to EL knockout stages as group winners ahead of Braga and most importantly avoiding all the big teams.

Do away goals not count anymore on group stage tie breakers?

I thought Vitesse has the better head to head on Spurs and should be through regardless of Spurs result

Vitesse beat Spurs 1-0 at home and lost 3-2 in London, but away goals don't count as of this season. Tottenham 'only' need a win against Rennes.

So knockout stages of Europa League will have: Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Porto, Leipzig, Atalanta, Sevilla, Lyon, Monaco, Napoli, plus teams like Lazio and West Ham. Some big clubs and teams that went far in Champions League in recent seasons (Leipzig, Atalanta, Lyon). Sevilla are, of course, favourites to win it

Europa still has a bad stigma but it's really not an easy competition to win anymore.

Winning it is definitely a good achievement. We obviously won it in 2017 but such a shame about 2020 and this year, we missed several big chances vs Sevilla in semis and then lost 11-10 on penalties this year in final. I hope we don't play Europa for a long time though, but have to secure top 4 this season to avoid it.

They wouldn't dare to rig the Europa Super League.
