I am not saying otherwise but he would have been on more at Utd which is my point.Yeah because Dortmund pay their young unproven talents in apples. They’re oh so wholesome.

Not really. Yes, we are emotionally attached to that great man but I doubt any owner would consult a business decision with footballing p eopleIf he really wasn't consulted it is truly damning for the disgusting leeches that own our club.
Ok? And you are directing that at me because...?Except for:
Porto Vs Monaco
Bayern Vs Dortmund
Every single CL final has featured a team from the new Super League. With the SL team winning a majority of them.
if it goes ahead, Bayern will for sure join it too in no time.
I was really starting to be hopeful for the future and how things were going, now I am worried again. I don't mind us playing the big clubs in the CL. The ones who are excited won't be if we lose week after week. The excitement will soon disappear.I don't know much, we will have to see what is announced and how everyone reacts in the coming weeks/months.
Suddenly I think it’s great idea! All aboard the Super Express.I guess this is one way we can make sure Liverpool never reach 20 league titles
The structure has a place in the untouchable 15 just waiting for them....Hey, Bayern and PSG are still not confirmed yet...
They won't and no one has said thing remotely similar to it.This isn't a new champions League. They will leave the premiership.
"Here's £1m a week lads, or you can play for England/Norway? Your choice"Do you think Haaland or Sancho would be happy about not being able to represent their national teams?
Except that in Spain Real and Barca are in on it, and they do not have foreign owners. It amazes me that Barc and Real are doing this when, unlike the Prem, they share 50% of the TV money with the other La Liga clubs sharing the remainder. So the big two in Spain have a huge financial advantage from TV compared to big clubs in the Prem where the TV money is shared equally amongst all clubs, no matter how much of a draw they are.Being American has a lot to do with this in fairness. They’re trying to turn this into an NFL style closed shop that where the owners can make (even more) buckets of cash. It’s pure Americana.
Don't lie, this is just a convenient reason for you to stop supporting Spurs whilst Jose is thereI am horrified and disgusted that Spurs are part of this. If they break away from the premiership I'm done supporting them honestly. I say that after supporting them for almost 40 years through thick and thin.
Neither of them are in it are they? The German clubs have said no and PSG are not invited it appears.Bayern vs. PSG Champions League final every season then...
It will make them all equally richer, presumably. While City still have their additional oil billions. Just don’t see how this evens out the playing field. We don't know the rules of the league yet Pogue, but you can be certain it will at least make the other clubs much richer than the CL does today.
Source? Bellingham got offered more at Dortmund apparently. Pep said a few weeks ago Dortmund pay agents huge fees to get the top young talents.I am not saying otherwise but he would have been on more at Utd which is my point.
It's because the likes of Barca are haemorrhaging money in the PSG/City inflated market, they need more guaranteed money in order to be able to compete and not go under in the process.Except that in Spain Real and Barca are in on it, and they do not have foreign owners. It amazes me that Barc and Real are doing this when, unlike the Prem, they share 50% of the TV money with the other La Liga clubs sharing the remainder. So the big two in Spain have a huge financial advantage from TV compared to big clubs in the Prem where the TV money is shared equally amongst all clubs, no matter how much of a draw they are.
But that's not the issue, the same set of clubs have been trying to do the same thing since the late 90s early 2000s. It's about money and funneling all the TV rights to themselves. I get that people want to find a rational that is palatable to them but blaming Qatar and UAE for something that was mooted way before they entered football is a bit perplexing.Give it enough time and I'm afraid you'll understand. What UEFA want is to allow as much money as possible come into football but have the biggest revenue makers accept it. They want a 'fairness' that can allow Man City to have a better bench than Arsenal do a first team but still take in all the revenue from Arsenal fans anyway. They want a 'fairness' that is a European 'Champions' league that gives multiple places to big revenue leagues that means that the actual champions from Scotland, Ireland, etc will never be able to make it to the competition proper. They want a 'fairness' that suits only them. The only reason that UEFA care about this is because they stand to lose revenue. If this was Rangers and Dundalk and other small clubs, who are champions, from small nations planning this UEFA wouldn't give a shit.
Well then maybe UEFA should have done more to stop UAE and Qatar from making a joke out of football. Maybe they should have stopped the likes of Leeds, Wigan, us and Liverpool from being taken over by obvious leeches and straddled with huge debts. They created this shit and it is their fault. I hate the super league idea but I simply don't blame the clubs I blame UEFA, the FA and the other league authorities.
Yeah so they the only big teams left in the Champions LeagueNeither of them are in it are they? The German clubs have said no and PSG are not invited it appears.
Yes. But then didn't they absolutely resit takeover of Leipzig?Respect to the German clubs
This is the most likely eventuality.Let me guess the Presser. We don't want to do this but honestly, left with no other choice due to UEFA acting like a tyrant and making changes we don't like.
Cue some weeks of negotiation and a new structure that suits the moneymen on all sides
That's exactly what the plan is from what I can see. Leave the local leagues and start a new 'super league'.They won't and no one has said thing remotely similar to it.
I think there will be a revenue based spending cap.It will make them all equally richer, presumably. While City still have their additional oil billions. Just don’t see how this evens out the playing fields.
What young player doesn't dream of playing at a World Cup Finals?"Here's £1m a week lads, or you can play for England/Norway? Your choice"
Just speculating but I imagine if City are being invited it will only be if they agree to a spend/wage cap not exceeding the big clubs involved. So how does this proposal stop City and PSG taking the piss?
Bang on the money.Fans will feel passionately about this and rightly so, but please make your own minds up and don’t be sucked in by this ridiculous narrative being pushed by Sky. The way they bang on and moralise, the competition they have helped create is some Marxist utopia where all clubs compete on a level playing field and fans pay thru’penny bit to watch their local team play for the love of the game. Rubbish.
Let’s not kid ourselves. The Premier League has always been about money. It was about creating wealth for the original twenty breakaway teams and Sky Sports. Furthermore, its always been a “closed shop” dominated by a handful of rich sides. The only teams who have successfully broken into the top few sides are those who have had billions pumped in by shady owners. What’s so great about the current set-up, dominated by a Championship-sized team who have had the ill-gotten gains of corrupt trillionaires poured into “their” club?
I can’t understand what legitimate arguments exist against the ESL. All of the arguments against are emotive. People don’t like the idea or don’t feel comfortable with it, which is fine. But let’s not pretend it’s some major shift in direction away from what’s already been happening in football for 25 years. The game gave into greed long, long ago. The Premier League and UEFA had their chance to reform and did nothing. Now they are scrambling, along with Sky.
That's not nearly the same thing tbh. Comparing things that are very very differentYes. But then didn't they absolutely resit takeover of Leipzig?
See what you are getting at. Sorry.Yeah so they the only big teams left in the Champions League
They're not actively leaving them, it's the Premier League threatening to kick them out. That's exactly what the plan is from what I can see. Leave the local leagues and start a new 'super league'.
It has to be a non-starter. Surely. I did wonder if this was more about big clubs politicking because of disquiet over how the game is run. But it does sound advanced. This idea has been around for some time"Here's £1m a week lads, or you can play for England/Norway? Your choice"
And I am saying, it's wrong. Noone has said anything about it. You are just assuming things now. That's exactly what the plan is from what I can see. Leave the local leagues and start a new 'super league'.
Mate your word is as good as mine. Ive no idea what's going on.That's not nearly the same thing tbh. Comparing things that are very very different
Business decision is whether to choose pornhub or teamviewer as a shirt sponsor. A breakaway league is a transformational decision. Not really. Yes, we are emotionally attached to that great man but I doubt any owner would consult a business decision with footballing p eople
I couldn't disagree more strongly with your view.Fans will feel passionately about this and rightly so, but please make your own minds up and don’t be sucked in by this ridiculous narrative being pushed by Sky. That is a sure-fire way of killing the Champions League stone dead!Neville has called for a points deduction.
Imagine if United, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal all got points deducted tomorrow, and you know it'll be a hefty points deduction to make an example of them, the top 4 of the league would look like this:
Leicester,
West Ham,
Everton,
Leeds
I'd hold off before giving them too much credit here, because of the ownership structure in Germany. They probably have to run it by their fans first before publicly committing to the new competition.Respect to the German clubs
With the money involved, I doubt thats needed. They arent going to bid 400m for a player, and if they do then happy days to the selling clubJust speculating but I imagine if City are being invited it will only be if they agree to a spend/wage cap not exceeding the big clubs involved.
