It’s 14 teams I believe. Which they already have.Once they start backing out though, they get past the 75% rule for voting and if we still push ahead then could be in big trouble.
His word means nothing. Wait until he does something before giving him credit.Demonstrates the power of public opinion though. If it's the right thing, it's the right thing and we should credit them for doing it.
Of course they are, but two wrongs don't make a right. And the ESL is on a whole other level of cynicism. It is not a fact just yet. They stated many times that they're going to do everything to kick you out the regular competitions, whether they succeed or not remains to be seen. The ESL is a gigantic FU to football and they weren't even able to make it halfway compelling for their own fans. I personally think that they have too much to lose to let it quietly happen and the other clubs aren't not going to sit and watch either. It's really not entitlement. It stink to high heavens but, let's not forget, the FA, PL, UEFA, FIFA are all greedy fecks aswell. This is just a fact, and it is likely that they won't kick the clubs out. As a United supporter, I hope I'm wrong. The owners may have just sparked something that will force them out. I hope they get pillaged by the associations and are forced to leave.
I just don't think they will as there is so much money in the ESL anyway and it could potentially get even bigger if they don't play domestic games.
No, I think this 50+1 stuff is fanciful, but I can absolutely see how the government will want to shore-up and protect a highly lucrative domestic market by any means possible in the short term.So you think as country begs for post Brexit investment the govt will want to be seen buying private businesses against wishes of registered owners?
I’m sorry that cloud cuckoo land stuff. We might as well want them to draft in the Thundercats to save the day it is that absurd.
Probably all feeding off that one tweet. It is coming from a number of places that they weren't in the vanguard of this and signed up out of cowardice.
You know what they say about great empires. They crumble from within, not due to their own weakness but arrogance, hubris and decay. This would be a fitting a case study.Wouldn't be ironic if the Glazers were responsible for ruining ownership for themselves, all americans or middle-east countries ?
He also demonstrably lied when he said that PSG, Bayern, and Dortmund weren't approached. Dunno why anyone is taking his word as gospel frankly. Why do you believe Perez? His comments literally come across that this thing is a bail out for Real and Barca problems.
Him and Spurs seem to be getting away with very little negative press, I mean I know it's because it's Spurs but stillTweet

Evidence session? I don’t think anyone is suggesting a crime has been committed have they? Its just unethical and not in the interest of the British public.Tweet

I mean if you think about it Chelsea and City's owners aren't greedy capitalists out to make as much off the clubs as they can. This isn't to say our owners' motivations are pure or anything but it makes perfect sense that they'd be reluctant to overhaul a system to further a goal that has never been a priority.Probably all feeding off that one tweet.
Yeah United and Liverpool bullied Chelsea and City into signing up. Don't let yourself be fooled mate, they're both in this upto their neck like the rest of them.

Same. I'm encouraged.I now believe this is more likely to be stopped than go ahead. Every hour, the opposition is increasing.
If it is a Select Committee their public hearings are called evidence sessions. There is no penalty for perjury (at the moment), although it has long been mooted that Parliament will pass a law to compel attendance at such sessions.Evidence session? I don’t think anyone is suggesting a crime has been committed have they? Its just unethical and not in the interest of the British public.
Because nobody can work out how on earth they managed to get in.Him and Spurs seem to be getting away with very little negative press, I mean I know it's because it's Spurs but still
That’s the dream. How do we turn a nightmare into a dream? With a bit of luck this will get smacked down and the Glazers long term business model will be shredded and they will look for a buyer.
1. Imagine Joel GlazerCan someone explain this rule to me?
Didn't say they got bullied. Said that they were cowards and signed up even though they weren't completely enamoured with it. Further, both are actually funded by private/national wealth that isn't reliant on bank debt. So them pulling out isn't out of the question if they think it hasn't got legs, especially as they are the two who could probably most easily swallow a fine for backing out. If they go and Bayern, Dortmund and PSG don't join. You're left with a league of 10.Probably all feeding off that one tweet.

I think the reports that Chelsea and City are the least committed make sense.
In terms of money - their owners haven't got into this to make money directly, but for prestige and branding.
In terms of dominance - they (esp City) have crazy dominance over established teams under the current system. If the money from the new SL materialises, then even Spurs can compete with them on an almost equal footing, and Roman/Mansour will have to put up a lot more cash to keep them ahead.
In terms of fan backlash - for City, I'm not sure how well-established they are in Asia and America yet. Might need a few more successful years to be able to sever all connections at home. This isn't a concern for the other clubs.
All 3 reasons apply to PSG too, and they're officially out.
It makes sense that Perez (club in debt) and Glazer (more money guaranteed, more competitive with less spending) are the two leading men.

Not when the breakway clubs want to remain in the premier league. And changes to the premier league need to 2/3 majority...so the 14 clubs do have the power in that regard.“14 PL clubs unanimously reject plans for super league”
That’s all well and good but isn’t it a bit like me rejecting my invite to the golden globes? They weren’t invited anyway, and it’s nothing to do with them.
Sounds like a Select Committee - to allow them to scrutinise the proposal.Evidence session? I don’t think anyone is suggesting a crime has been committed have they? Its just unethical and not in the interest of the British public.

As announced by Bloomberg and confirmed by RMC Sport, UEFA is preparing a counterattack in the Super League. UEFA is working with investment fund to come up with new LOC that would have a starting budget of €4.5b but which could go up to €7b.
Yeah I'm actually surprised they're even in this. The whole thing is so to prevent new money from disrupting football and City / Chelsea are the posterboys of new money. They don't give a feck that RM can't compete in a world where nation states can throw their wealth around at prestige projects.I think the reports that Chelsea and City are the least committed make sense.
