Don’t have a clue what Mercedes were doing but Hamilton doesn’t deserve a penalty for trying to cut up the inside. Ferrari

Hamilton saying he was at fault for the Albon incident.
Bit surprising given most people had that as a racing incident. Might have done a Verstappen and given himself a penalty. Would mean Sainz gets his first podium from last on the grid and Mclaren get a first podium for years.

I thought he could have stuck it behind the barrier. He knew that a SC was what Lewis needed.
I’ll have to watch it again, but it looks like it was as close to being behind the barrier as he could get - the commentary were saying he did as best he could to not get a SC out and were even questioning the official decision to send one out

Could be some more movement as a host of drivers (including Sainz) is under investigation for opening DRS under double waved yellows.

Well, that was too big of space Albon letting Lewis in of course Lweis would gladly took it. Albon closed too late i think. Rookie mistake
At worst a racing incident but Lewis Hamilton took the blame.

Ferrari continues their tradition of pointing a gun at their own head and pulling the trigger until the chamber is empty.. At least it was a somewhat exciting way of sabotaging themselves this time which is refreshing, so thanks for that Vettel.

Is it too much to ask for everyone except Leclerc to be sacked?

Ferrari have to get rid of Vettel before they'll get anywhere even remotely close to driver or constructor titles, regardless of how good the car is.

True, god knows what’s happened to him, he’s always had these brain farts in him but he seems to have ramped them up this year.

Is he normal?
Seb Vettel is done. He's very lucky that the stewards didn't punish him further. Ferrari have protected Seb all year whilst giving him first preference on strategy at the detriment of Le Clerc who could've won more races if it wasn't for this.

Formula 1 has all but given up on plans to hold reverse grid qualifying races next season after hostility from drivers and opposition from some teams.

Ross Brawn, F1's managing director of Motorsports, said that two teams had withdrawn their support for the idea — designed to make Grand Prix races less predictable — after it was ridiculed by drivers earlier this year.

Qualifying races, with the grid lining up in reverse championship order, would have been trialled at three events next year, under the proposals tabled by the sport's governing body.

But the plan was torpedoed as "bullshit" by Sebastian Vettel during a Singapore Grand Prix press conference. Lewis Hamilton said: "People who propose that don’t really know what they’re talking about."

Despite the driver opposition towards the concept, Formula 1 had counted on the support of all teams. However, at a meeting earlier this month in Paris to discuss the rules of the sport, the mood had changed.

“The current governance system means we need unanimity to carry any decisions through to next year,” Brawn said “The teams initially said they would agree with it and then two teams put their hand up at the last meeting and said they wouldn’t agree with it.

“We wanted to try a small number of races in 2020, a different format where, on a Saturday, it was a reverse-grid format based on championship order and that short-format race would determine the grid order for the final race.

“I thought it was a fascinating contest. And the drivers were a little bit nervous, which I can understand, but we were just asking for the opportunity for three races to try the format.

“If it doesn’t work, we put our hands up; if it does work, great. If it’s something in between, we can work with [that] just to help us develop the format of racing, and it’s frustrating that we’ve not been able to do that but I think that’s – unfortunately – the classic problem with Formula 1.”

Brawn had previously said that next year was the ideal time to try new ideas, as the regulations are stable, ahead of rule changes in 2021.

Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner insisted that F1 would not have been bound by the changes and that any changes that didn't work could have been reverted.

"Some people said they don’t like it. I know of one [team] maybe there was a second one that jumped on the bandwagon.

"We can try it but we need to new brave enough if it doesn’t work to get rid of it. We shouldn’t go and try it and be adamant we have to do it. If it doesn’t work, we need to be grown up enough to say, ‘ok it didn’t work, let’s go back to our old thing."

"We could discover something that works. The world is moving a lot faster than 10 or 20 years ago. We need to be a bit more adaptive."

It's just not needed if they get the rule set right, it isn't keeping the sport pure. It's like changing football from 2 halves to 4 quarters, just leave it.

It was interesting to watch Brundle go around Interlagos in Senna's car. They really looked like tiny simple cars.
Tiny and simple is a good description.
But of course it was at the hight of technology at the time and it still looks beautiful.
And the drivers sat much higher in the car.
Martin Brundle looks like he is putting on some weight now.

Vettel has a problem when he is in close proximity to other drivers.
I do wonder if he has a problem with spacial awareness.
For example. Both Hamilton and Verstappen seem able to race right on the edge and very close to other cars without routinely making contact (yes they occasionally do I accept).
But Vettel seems to loose the spacial picture far too often when in the same circumstances.
