Didn't look a red to me. Think as soon as VAR said go and look at it, the ref felt obliged to send him off, when he can just go against VAR if he has a mind of his own.

Biggest issue with VAR there. Ref goes to the monitor, he basically has to change his mind. They need more freedom in those scenarios to make up their own mind.
