The Judas Priest versions of Diamons & Rust and The Green Manalishi with the two prong crown are amazing. Like them better than the originals.

In honor of one of my personal, professional and artistic idols, George Martin, who just passed away. Here are a couple of cool Beatle covers:

Fiona Apple cover of one of my favs, Across The Universe. Actually like it better for the fantastic video made by Fiona´s then boyfriend, Paul Thomas Anderson. This has to be the best pop music video I´ve ever seen.

Great B52´s version and video of Paperback Writer:

The Breeders to another fav, Happiness is a Warm Gun

Live At Sin E by Jeff Buckley is close to being an entire album of live covers with just a few early versions of songs that would end up on Grace. One of the best live albums ever IMO. Way Young Lovers Do is particularly amazing.

No mention of Kanye Wests Bohemian Rhapsody cover? You people make me sick.

On a serious note Metallica's Whiskey in the Jar is a great song.

The Anti-Nowhere League with their interesting punk version of Ralph McTell's "Streets of London"
