Bitten by an adder as a baby, the adder died.
Betting on favourites in football really is a terrible idea, the margins are so fine. American football, boxing, tennis and snooker have been far more effective in my experience. The sad thing is that we're all obsessed with football so you would assume that's the game to gamble on, but unless you develop a system of betting for value (as opposed to perceived locks) you really are going to struggle. Accumulators only accentuate the problem I describe. I'm not a gambling sage, far from it, but I'm 99% convinced this is true and I'd rather not see bookies get rich off of Utd fans!

Golovkin by ko @1/7 - that is a mortgage job.

Thanks Roma. AGAIN.
The last 4 times I've bet on Roma they've cost me somehow. I took a break from them and they won a game, then promptly drew to Parma. I've had enough of them.

Anyone know anything about these South Sydney Rabbitohs who are playing St Helens today in the "World Club Challenge"? You can get 4/7 and they seem to be the dog's proverbials.
As a rugby fan I'd say South Sydney are nailed on too win this match. The Aussies are miles ahead of us in Rugby League and they won the Australian league last season. Saying that though the weather doesn't look the best so not sure if that will play a deciding factor.

3 0-0s in the three main live games going on at the moment.

Fiorentina 0-0 Torino
St Etienne 0-0 Marseille
Elche 0-0 Real Madrid

In play betting at the moment, but I have no idea which to choose from. Fiorentina seem to be dominating possession and chances in Florence, seems like a tame affair at St Etienne so could be a draw on the cards, and then Madrid should eventually get going and score against Elche.

Never bet on Fiorentina. They may win in the end, but it's normally 90th minute winners (in my experience) that do your heart no good whatsoever.

OK, I've gone under 1.5 goals in the St Etienne-Marseille game, and picked Fiorentina to win as a double. Roughly 4/1.

That Madrid game has scared me off.

Need Fiorentina for my Acca and they missed an early pen. Excellent.
Won't be easy. Had a look at the match but Torino has 4 wins and 1 draw in the last 5 matches and has one of the best defences in the league, so not the easiest matches to bet on.

Now Accepting Positive Reps.
Yeah, Torino won their last 3 away league games and Fiorentina unbeaten in a while but fancied the home side at 17/20.

Had they bagged the penalty I'd have felt safe the win was in the bag.

I should have just gone for the draw like I initially saying. Really hope one of them scores again now (unless Fiorentina don't win)

The opposite. It's a bet on Barca to win. I was leaning towards city but just learned Yaya is banned. Changes a lot I reckon.
I am still at crossroads with this one. Barca just lost this weekend, and as per reports, they weren't able to create anything/go anywhere with the ball. And with Silva and Aguero, you never know what folds out tonight.

Bet365 are doing the matched in-play bet again on City Barca. Thinking £50 on City to win and in-play £50 on Barca draw no bet? Sound good or is there anything else?

Apologies, but what is draw no bet?

I am thinking of putting the first one on btts and the second one on Barca to win/not lose.

Also what's the withdrawing like with those bets? Do you have to do that thing where you have to stake the bet like 5 or 6 times again before you can withdraw?

No need to apologise. Basically draw no vet means if Barca win, you win. If they draw you get your stake refunded. Its lower risk but obviously lower odds.

As I type that I realise it might be more sensible to go for Barca double result. Which means you win if Barca win or if its a draw, again at lower odds.

For clarity if you lay a bet on an exchange like betfair or betdaq (3% comm for newbies) you act like a bookmaker ie my £10 'lay' on Barca is me taking a bet on Barca to win at 11/10. If they lose or draw I keep the £10 but if they win I have to pay out £11.

Further I think the fair odds of Barca winning are about 5/2. Hence I have a massive 1.4 pt advantage over probability. Of course, Messi could feck that right up at any time.

Worst bet I've done - £5 on Fernando to be booked anytime in this Barca game.

He's so nervous that he isn't getting close to any of the Barca players. I've already conceded that one.
