Look at it from the Valencia fans point of view. They will be livid.

So his first game in charge is Barcelona. Good luck Gary. If Moyes can do it, you sure can.

Hopefully Gaz will stop him 'crossing' the ball at people's ankles.

Fair play to him, really excited to see how he gets on and who he brings in in January.

Imagine the press in this country if an inexperienced foreigner got a job because he's mates with the owner.

 well I would bet everything I own that no one saw this coming.
Certainly a surprise. With the Co92's relationship with Peter Lim, I figured there was a good chance one may be approached to take it full time. Didn't expect Gary though with how well everything seems to be for him at the moment.

Maybe there was something in the Fulham rumours after all. Valencia makes more sense though as he'd still be able to keep his ownership stake in Salford. Don't think he'd be able to do that if he became manager of Fulham.

Am I the only one a bit disappointed because he won't be on Sky anymore?

I would like to see him do well but I can't help but feel this won't go too well for him.

Thrilled with the news, would love nothing more than him doing well and being a future United manager.

Cool! Like his analysis on Sky. Will be interesting to see what tactics he'll use. He certainly has good players at his disposal.

He should of grasped the language and waited before he took the job if he hasn't. This isn't a one time thing, other managers would of been sacked later.

I really want this to work.

I hope he does brilliantly
1: Because Id love him to manage us one day
2: Because it will be one in the eye for Moyes
3: Because He is a red to the core.

Surprising, but I guess it makes sense considering his relationship with Lim.

It will be very interesting to see how he does. It won't be easy without knowing the language or the culture. Not to mention winning the players and fans respect without any experience as manager of a team. He also won't get as easy a ride as he would from the English press.

Wish him all the best.
