He was sacked today as wellUnless he desperately wants to return to Germany I don't see why Tuchel would consider Leipzig. And he hasn't even been sacked yet either.
Oh damn, that's so tragic. Still, his name should remain in good standing, he can probably watch the carousel spin for a while and something good will come up eventually. He was sacked today as well

Hmm... If red bull sign Eberl as their director of football, I'm not so sure he wants to work with Rose again. After all Rose played a significant part in his breakdown.Rosenball at Rasenball, eh? Could have done with some more DT, let's hope Rose doesn't disappoint us with a successful stint.
Well..Apologies for making this the big Leverkusen day:

Why would they do this? I'm sure he's a decent keeper 95% of the time, but the other times he's a clown and often when it hurts the most. Off the top of my head I remember him giving away a silly goal against Moscow when Leverkusen last played in the CL, he had a comical blunder in their last cup final, he blundered them out of the cup against Essen and then he blundered them out of the cup against Karlsruhe (big club) the following year and of course this season he already had his little red card incident against Dortmund.
GK is more or less the one position in football where everyone can have a "good" player, why would you settle for someone, who - at this point - almost guarantees you that he will choke?
I would be smug about it, but with Hradecky everyone must have seen it coming. If I remember correctly his mistake against Moscow back then was during the first game, too.Well..
Yeah, I really hoped they would go for Ortega as well. Can't wrap my head around how they can ignore Hradecky's error proneness when it is so obvious.I would be smug about it, but with Hradecky everyone must have seen it coming. I felt like it was inevitable Leverkusen would go for Ortega last window, I'd really like to know if they made a serious offer to him.
I also imagine that "Komfortzone" is trending on werkself right now.
[smugmode]Knowing we get to enjoy this for another 4 years...priceless, mwhahahaWell..

NoYou think Germany is the only country with so-called ultras?
Not really as they are from a group that is forbidden in the PSG stadium today but since 2003 - Supraa Auteuil - has a friendship with Cologne ultra groups... Even showed banners in the stadium.Apparently Ultras from Paris travelled disguised as Cologne fans to create trouble. Tells you more about the issues in French football then in German.
They didn't rotate a lot. I didn't watch the game, so I can't give you a very good answer, but the fact that they just had a tough game against Bayern and that they probably were supposed to dominate this game are probably both factors that worked against them. What's with Union Berlin and European football? I'd think they really wouldn't have to lose to Union St-Gilloise at home...? Heavily rotated team?
This obviously must never happen, but I don't see the impact on the bigger picture. Especially since it was a small group and I assume this was also only possible, because French authorities failed their job.Cologne showing again why ultras are the secret USP of German football @do.ob
You just called ultras in Germany „unique“ which means it‘s the only country with them. That is obviously wrong so I simply don’t get the use of the word „unique“.
USP doesn't mean that no other competitor has whatever your USP is. The USP of WhatsApp is that it has the biggest user base but that doesn't mean Telegram has no users at all. And the great atmosphere (which @do.ob attributes to the ultras) is often cited as something that differentiates the Bundeslga from the EPL for example. You just called ultras in Germany „unique“ which means it‘s the only country with them. It depends on how you phrase the question and other things, if we're talking about atmosphere as in active support/noise/choreos, then I'd say that maybe things are different at Leverkusen these days and I suspect Leipzig may have hired some entertainer straight off Ballermann, but I think if you look at any conventional home stand, you'll see one or two blocks with organized fans, who are going non-stop and usually have a drum/Capo and then it radiates out from there, getting quiter/more passive the further it gets away form that block.USP doesn't mean that no other competitor has whatever your USP is. Funny that you always direct side blows at Leverkusen in this discussion. Did you know Leverkusen was actually among the very first German clubs with ultra groups? It depends on how you phrase the question and other things, if we're talking about atmosphere as in active support/noise/choreos, then I'd say that maybe things are different at Leverkusen these days and I suspect Leipzig may have hired some entertainer straight off Ballermann, but I think if you look at any conventional home stand, you'll see one or two blocks with organized fans, who are going non-stop and usually have a drum/Capo and then it radiates out from there, getting quiter/more passive the further it gets away form that block.
So if you look at it from that angle, then it's pretty obvious that the atmosphere indeed comes from organized fans.
If we're defining atmosphere in a broader sense (e.g. including ticket/food/beer prices and the demographic in stadiums) then that's more directly related to 50+1, though even there it could be argued that it's organized fans, who use their soft power to make sure that prices stay as low as possible and the overall experience remains as stadium goer friendly as possible (e.g. kickoff times).
I also believe you overestimate how difficult it is to get a drunk crowd to sing and shout.Die ersten Gruppen auf deutschem Boden waren wohl 1986 die Fortuna Eagles Supporters aus Köln[54] und 1989 die Soccer Boyz (heute: Ultras Leverkusen) aus Leverkusen.
Well if Leverkusen indeed have a functioning organized fan scene, then I don't know how you can make the comments that you make. Because every time you visit a stadium it should be pretty obvious where the activity on the stands comes from.Funny that you always direct side blows at Leverkusen in this discussion. Which doesn't mean that the activity on the stands wouldn't happen without ultras. How come there are dozens of sports without ultra culture that still have great atmosphere?Well if Leverkusen indeed have a functioning organized fan scene, then I don't know how you can make the comments that you make. Are there even a dozen (as opposed to your use of the plural ) sports in Europe that fetch crowds nearly as big as football? That have this great atmosphere without some kind of lead?Which doesn't mean that the activity on the stands wouldn't happen without ultras. Technically he shouldn't be, only signed at the last minute because Haller got diagnosed with cancer.Modeste just doesn't look like a Dortmund striker
His Leipzig career has been disappointing so far. I expected more. Same with Dani OlmoI'm shocked Szobolzlai (know I fecked up his name) hasn't established himself more at Leipzig. He looked great at Salzburg and I expected him to be leaving Leipzig by now but he hasn't kicked on at all yet. Great goal today.
That's typical Werner runs around cause trouble till it's time to shootWerner looks very lively. Haven't seen much of him this season but he's causing trouble all over the place.
Olmo has been decent though, wasn't he rumored to be off interest to Barca lately? I didn't think he would be a top player though but Szobozlai I thought would, Olmo usually starts over him as well. His Leipzig career has been disappointing so far. I expected more. Same with Dani Olmo
The hype that came with Olmos signing has not been justified by performance. I recall many top teams interested but Leipzig signed him for 30mOlmo has been decent though, wasn't he rumored to be off interest to Barca lately? Yeah I thought Moukoko looked decent against Leverkusen in that first game. Should have been preferred over ModesteI'm shocked Szobolzlai (know I fecked up his name) hasn't established himself more at Leipzig. Modeste starting over Moukoko really furthers my belief that Moukoko isn't anything great at senior level. Modeste hasn't been great at all but is still starting over apparently one of the biggest talents in the world.
