that was like Valencia wanting the ball from Rooney - Rooney was looking into the box and Valencia wanted the ball played wide so he started hopping up and down. Rooney ignored him and he stopped like he was sulking then Rooney looked back to him and started bobbing up and down again and got the ball.

Kicks him out of frustration with no intention of getting the ball. Luiz is a clown but it's still a deserved red IMO. Maybe a bit harsh but you can't really complain much, it was a stupid thing to do.
One can argue based on the replays that he was trying to get the ball but was a bit late. Him kicking out at Luiz maybe suits the narrative better.

I'd like to see Ramires' reaction to being shoved by Jones in the 81st minute and then compare it to Rafaels frustration with Luiz. If Rafael's reaction was a red card then Ramires should have been off, too. (This is all just from my memory though and my memory is very biased. Hence the gif request!)

Webb is a terrible referee and along with Atkinson, always favours Chelsea. Going back to the incident in question, if he didn't try to kick Jones with his right leg, the he most certainly tried to with his left, as is evident when he tries to get leverage from the ground.
