And here I thought it was common in this day and age.
Apparently a top tip is to plunge them into a bucket of wet sand after use and then liberally spray with wd40 or smear with some machine oil.
That way it will ensure your garden shears stay sharp and give the surgeons a chance to sew it back on easily if your wife or partner goes postal.
