A billion for each gruesome inbred parasitic cnut. Ironic that Chelsea had a government intervention which seems still to me to be absolutely crazy, when United is the one which in reality is a cultural institution that has been savaged by the scum for almost two decades and is now becoming a textbook case in how not to manage a club.

The injustice of them just pocketing a billion each after this would be mind-blowing.
Just how Chelsea managed to get away with everything and still come out smelling of roses is baffling isn’t it?

£6bn for an asset half a billion in debt and in need of a massive investment both to personnel and grounds. :houllier: :houllier:

No one is going to take this.
I can guarantee you that there would be no shortage of interest should the business be put up for sale

So 6 bn is the ransom these horrible scumbags want? If the only the fans had the guts to boycott the games and sponsors, that valuation would deflate as quickly as a cheap balloon being popped. Interest payments amount to 22 mil pounds a year on average, so a severe hit to their revenues would make it hard for them to keep up these payments and pay themselves their dividend. Pity our fanbase and groups like MUST are more than happy to keep cooperating and funding these parasites and the debt holders.

Would love the contents of this posted, is it allowed?
Three consortiums, rumours we are up for sale.
No comment from the club.
Musk tweets.
Stocks seeing unusual activity recently.
Minimal investment in the market.
Glazers seen attending games and meeting with powers that be.

Could be something. Could be nothing.

There was a high options activity last Friday, $Man Utd gets 0 options activity. Two days ago, someone did 450k, sustained volume, in $14 calls expiring 31 days, 3500% increase in volume.

Planned joke on markets? Or takeover?

They wouldn't need to though, a quick fire sale would bring in the money to supplement rebuilding of the team.
We would probably go straight back up and the Glazers would hold themselves up as hero's that got us back into the big time!

The fact that we are even discussing this situation is depressing and shows how far we have fallen under their regime!
They will never be heroes only total villains

Just saw this on Bloomberg -

(Bloomberg) --The Glazer family would consider selling a minority stake in Manchester United FC, people familiar with the matter said, as pressure mounts on their ownership of the historic English football club.
The owners have held some preliminary discussions about the possibility of bringing in a new investor, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information is confidential. The American Glazer family is not yet ready to cede control of Manchester United, which could be valued at about £5 billion ($6 billion), the people said.

Discussions are ongoing and there’s no certainty the Glazers will decide to sell a stake in the club, according to the people. A representative for Manchester United and the Glazer family declined to comment.

Manchester United is one of the best-known and most successful clubs in world football. It has won a record 13 English Premier League titles and has consistently been able to attract the game’s biggest stars, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The club would likely attract a host of big-name investors, similar to EPL team Chelsea FC, which was recently sold to American billionaire Todd Boehly and private equity firm Clearlake Capital in a £4.25 billion deal. Such is the global reach of Manchester United that Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk tweeted he was buying the club earlier on Wednesday, before clarifying he was joking.

The late Malcolm Glazer bought the club in a 2005 leveraged buyout that saddled it with massive debts and the family has faced distrust from hardcore supporters ever since. While this was mitigated in the early years of their ownership as the team continued to win trophies under Sir Alex Ferguson, resentment has grown steadily after the legendary coach’s retirement in 2013. Since then, the club has cycled through managers and big-money players with only a handful of trophies to show for it.

To make matters worse, their dominance of English football has shifted to crosstown rivals Manchester City FC, which has won multiple honors since being taken over by Abu Dhabi investors in 2008.

Protests Planned

A perceived lack of investment in Manchester United’s infrastructure, including its Carrington training ground and famous Old Trafford stadium, and frustration over poor recruitment strategy have compounded the ill will toward the Glazers.

Avram Glazer and Joel Glazer are executive co-chairmen and directors at Manchester United, while family members Kevin Glazer, Bryan Glazer, Darcie Glazer Kassewitz and Edward Glazer all sit on the board, according to the club’s website.

Fan tensions have boiled over in recent weeks, with Manchester United losing the first two games of the new EPL season, including a 4-0 drubbing by Brentford FC. At the opening home match of the new campaign -- a 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion FC -- a large group of devotees walked toward the stadium with banners that read: “Fight greed. Fight for United. Fight Glazers” and “We want our club back,” the Telegraph newspaper reported.

Supporters are planning to stage fresh protests at the team’s next home match against arch rivals Liverpool FC on Aug. 22. Liverpool won the corresponding fixture 5-0 last season and are the bookmakers’ favorite this time around.

I suspect the Glazers will want to sell soon. It's clearly unsustainable to milk the club indefinitely and not reinvest anything without also destroying its share value. Fan protest can accelerate the process

I think it's about fecking time the fans show the Glazers cnuts who are the rightful owners of Man Utd.

We must be united to stage huge protests continuously to make our stand crystal clear.

This is something more serious than the super league and the protest should be much bigger.

We have had enough of paying Glazers'debts, giving Glazers dividends, tolerate Glazers' incompetency on running the club, Glazers' neglecting the facilities, Glazers prioritizing money over football.

We have lost about 1.5 bil and over a decade of neglect on football side. We need revolution now.

Now that we know that there are credible chances of us being sold, we should try and do all we can to get rid.

Glazers couldn't agree this with the Saudis, I'm not too sure they would agree with anyone else.
Somethings changed. There’s been a big spike in volume on the stock before Musk tweeted and now stories are coming out about a stake being available to buy, my guess is that Musk (and other billionaires) have been sounded out for a potential buy, hence the reason he jokingly tweeted about it. As much as he’s a troll, he wouldn’t just randomly name drop United for the hell of it.

This I 100% agree with. His comments were just totally out of the blue and had no correlation to anything connected to him.

But for someone like Musk, or any other serious business person, why would a minority stake be any good?

The biggest protest would be an EMPTY old trafford against Liverpool. But the fans just don't care enough to make it happen.

They'd rather watch the game and sing a few songs then complain about it on twitter later.

It could happen. Say if Musk has bid and it's been rejected, fans probably protest hard than ever before, as they can see a viable option of someone buying the club.

Lets be honest if it happens, it won't be Musk.

If the news hit Bloomberg then it is serious. Bloomberg rarely gets these things wrong because they do not write speculations. I don't think it is about minority stake. I think United will be sold soon.

Even selling a minority stake to an activist investor would be huge progress

I would normally agree with you if someone didn’t drop $14m on the stock hours before Musk tweeted and today we weren’t getting Bloomberg terminal messages saying that they’re open to selling a stake.

Looks to me like they’ve tasked a company to sell a stake and they’ve started approaching people. I doubt it’s anything more than 10%-20% though.

Could take months.

They have to find a buyer and the buyer has to prove they have the cash first. The interesting thing is what they will do with the cash.

Convincing a buyer to come in and pay off debt is a hard sell and a no go. I suspect they’ll look to raise a billion and invest that in a new team and renovations for the stadium etc.

Our very own ‘lever’.
