Honestly, 21 is too old. We need to be looking at players age 14-17.

Feels like a Dortmund buy that eventually gets sold 3 years on for 10x profit
Benfica are perfectly capable of selling their own players for stupid money.

Guys, havent we learnt anything about players who excel at ONE world cup game ever before?
Are you including all the players who had a good first game and went on to have many more in your sample size?

if not, what’s the point?

needless to say, in retrospective players who had one good game but then flopped were probably not good buys

anything less than £50 million is worth a gamble, if he does not work out, we can sell him at half the price

A reallly sharp old style nr.9. At a really high high level i think. No doubt if some one ask for a natural CF recommendation. I will clearly say Goncalo Ramos.

Better or worse than Schick?

At this current moment better than Schick. But not sure a year back, while Schick had Florian Wirtz as his service and teammates.

You have to take the level of Bayer Leverkusen as team contra Benfica and Portugal when you compare those 2 players.
Bayer Leverkusen a middle/bottom team against a really good attacking team Benfica and Portugal.

Unlucky, not for Schick. But for Bayer Leverkusen as a team. Florian Wirtz long time injured this season. Big big reason behind poor results.

I'm not going to judge him too much on this game - Switzerland have been nowhere near it; all over the place. Maybe some of them have been ill over the last few days as per their manager's suggestion?
Yep, today was almost inevitable - Portugal's players looking so good vs Switzerland was more due to how abysmal Switzerland were on the day. The amount of knee-jerk over-reactions was nuts.

Against tough opposition today he was anonymous.

Linked to Ramos by Simon Stone, being name-checked by the pocketman himself is pretty big. Samuel Luckhurst released the same info shortly after too, seems like a brief from someone ITK.

"Ten Hag likes fellow Dutchman Cody Gakpo, 23, at PSV Eindhoven, and Benfica's 21-year-old frontman Goncalo Ramos, who scored a hat-trick when he replaced Ronaldo in the Portugal side for their World Cup last-16 win against Switzerland."

A catch up on his goals from the last year, he seems to have the striker instinct getting goals by hook or by crook scruffy or not & good with his head. Doesn't excite but could be good for the right price. Getting £80m for Nunez last summer though and Ramos scoring that WC Hattrick and nearly goal a game this season in Portugal, the price could be a concern..

Not really surprising we would be interested, his name has popped up as a candidate to move on from Portuguese football pretty soon and that was prior to his exploits against Switzerland. There's a pretty limited pool of natural number 9 candidates that are young with potential.

Looks a decent shout. Not excited by the way he looks on the ball but can occupy defenders and sniff out goals it seems. At 21 he's interesting.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
I’ve only seen him against Switzerland but his hold up play, work rate and all round game looked good and statistically he seems a very well rounded forward. His pace would concern me - doesn’t seem like someone who can stretch teams but I’ve seen very little of him so could be wrong. He also doesn’t look 6 foot 1 so that surprised me!

I guess we won't be signing this one either then
Surely can get for a bargain now

Sooooo, a video of him j*erking off just leaked apparently.
Didn't believe it at first, but someone has well and truly done him up like a kipper. Lord I know that Hattrick was something to be excited about but man, even the "ending" is there aswell.

He can not be signed now close the thread lads shut it down.

Imagine the reaction replies on social media to any miss, goal or post containing him in for the rest of his EPL career. It''s already started if you just search his name. Poor lad. Mortifying.

His value went up 350% after that win against swiss and went down 200% after the game vs Morrocco.
The only man who's valued like a Crypto currency. I'd wait and see if this holds as support. If it breaks down (him having a streak of bad matches) then we can have a bargain.

This screams of Real Madrid signing James Rodriguez after he scored a great goal 8 years ago. How'd that turn out?
James’ biggest problem was that he was injury prone, and never truly fit tactically at Madrid. He was still a very good quality player

Ramos seems a traditional no.9 in a position we desperately need a player. He might fail, but I don’t think they’re that comparable
