So Haaland is the ideal then? He is at the right hand top corner.Further up = more goals per finish (or, more accurately, per expected goal)
Further right = more finishes (or, more accurately, expected goals) per game
Mbappe finishes significantly more than Greenwood, but Greenwood is far deadlier with his finishes. Ideally you want to be high up, and to the right (lots of shots and lots of goals).
When Robbie Fowler burst on to the scene he was the best finisher I had seen in a long time however I think Mason is better. Can anyone think of a player in the past or now that has Mason's composure and finishing ability already? Haaland is one currently and one from the past is Brazilian Ronaldo.
Ideally you'd want to have lots of shots and lots of goals without being a shot taking machine that also wastes a lot options and doesn't pick out the pass when its the better option, though. Not sure if Mbappe does that.Further up = more goals per finish (or, more accurately, per expected goal)

That will depend on the fate of the team. If we are successful then he can become a great. But United isn't a club where individuals shine when the team is struggling. His finishing is just ridiculous. I can't wait to see what he adds to his game as he develops.
Yeah, young Brazilian Ronaldo was like nothing before or since, watching videos of him looks like it’s a computer game on some cheat mode, just pure force of nature he was. When Robbie Fowler burst on to the scene he was the best finisher I had seen in a long time however I think Mason is better.
Young Ronaldo (Brazil) is the best young player I have ever seen, Greenwood’s step overs and balance kinda remind me of Ronaldo but he was on another planet to anyone I have seen before or since.
He's not even in the top 20, and that's not because he isn't a phenomenal finisher, rather, some of the best finishers of all time have come and gone during that period.A few months ago I claimed he's the best finisher since Van Basten, can't say my opinion has changed.

Up there with Van Nistelrooy as the best finisher to play in the first team in my 40 years of watching United
He has potential to be a world class striker. Seriously.
Shame he has the mentality of a 12 year old
Needs proper hands on management IMO. big challenge ahead for Ole...
In some ways you could even say, that it is Ole's first real test.Up there with Van Nistelrooy as the best finisher to play in the first team in my 40 years of watching United

Robbie Fowler, Owen and Aguero were all comfortably better players at Greenwood's age.Can anyone think of a player in the past or now that has Mason's composure and finishing ability already? Haaland is one currently and one from the past is Brazilian Ronaldo.
I don’t think this is accurate. Those players you mentioned are all currently better goal scorers but they aren’t actually as good at pure finishing. Salah for example is extremely wasteful and while he’s capable of scoring some beauties he scores lots of goals more because of his great movement and the pure amount of chances he gets. Greenwood currently still doesn’t get enough chances or involvement to be an elite goal scorer but when in front of goal there’s very few players in world football I’d rather have right now. Some insane posts here. I'm a big fan of Greenwood but 'best since Van Basten', are you kidding me? Give it a couple of years. At the moment he isn't a better finisher than Kane, Vardy, Aguero or Salah, forget Van Basten and Ronaldo.
Robbie Fowler, Owen and Aguero were all comfortably better players at Greenwood's age.
That’s his (slightly) stronger foot. Its weird how good thst finish was on his wrong foot and yet there isnt much chat about it because we are already so used to it and the conversation has been done to death.. And hes only 18
What's even better is that he's so good with both feet that he's conned you in to thinking he's right footed! Its weird how good thst finish was on his wrong foot and yet there isnt much chat about it because we are already so used to it and the conversation has been done to death.. And hes only 18
Disagree with this. I for one have seen enough to have only Kane in front of him in the PL at present. Neither Vardy nor Salah are better finishers than Greenwood. Aguero isn't the finisher he was either. Some insane posts here. I'm a big fan of Greenwood but 'best since Van Basten', are you kidding me? Give it a couple of years. I agree that people are getting carried away here and I wanted to take issue with your last statement, but after looking at the raw stats you are right, not sure about comfortably better, but the two scousers put in better figures, especially Owen. At 18;Some insane posts here. I'm a big fan of Greenwood but 'best since Van Basten', are you kidding me? Give it a couple of years. That’s one way to see it, absolutely. Even better would be Haaland’s number of attempts with Greenwood’s efficiency ;-)So Haaland is the ideal then? He is at the right hand top corner.
I agree that Mbappe’s conversion rate looks too low.Ideally you'd want to have lots of shots and lots of goals without being a shot taking machine that also wastes a lot options and doesn't pick out the pass when its the better option, though. Not sure if Mbappe does that.
Son actually can be quite erratic in his finishes. But his movement is excellent and enables him to be on the end of many chances. At the moment, Son is the best finisher in the Premiership
