We can’t, like some seem to be showing, go into the season with McFred in the middle. There’s literally next to no point improving RB, RW, SC if the midfield is neglected. It’s where most of our problems stem from

Its insane to me, that when we need a Right back, most posters here are perfectly fine with buying a talented CB(who played 4 games at RB last season), as next season's primary right back. Here's an idea, how about we play players at their best position?

We never learn, do we.

If we get De Jong and just 1-2 more signings, this window would be a disaster. We needed 4-6 signings at the minimum this season. CB, RB, DM, CM, CF and RW.

This likely means that ETH sees the need to fill 2 positions (CB and RB). The wing-back position is the least important in football, so prioritising a CB makes sense from that perspective.

But yes, like you, I also hope to see someone new at RB.

Most of you have like 1 new player in your lineups. The transfer window has just opened and most of the good players are on international duty.

We will bring in 3-4 new players at least this summer.

Are you living under a rock? Wing backs/full backs are arguably the most important position in the modern game.

Pep and Klopp have revolutionised the use of them and their importance in attack and retaining possession.

That's been the usual kind of number most years now, that's the Glazer way it seems.

Honestly I'm not so sure this year. I think on the back of that season it'll be extremely difficult to convince players at this point.

It’s by no means certain that we’ll have completed our transfer business when the season opens. And new signings don’t always start straight away.

Varane will almost certainly be injured. Maybe Shaw as well.

Given that Ralf praised Rashford for his performances in training, something that plenty on here have chosen to forget, I think it’s likely that he will start. If he’s crap in pre-season he won’t though.

If Henderson is still here and featured in pre-season, I think there’s an outside chance he’ll start the first game.

Varane's injury isn't that serious, its a 2 week lay off is all.

If we manage to sign FDJ I reckon ETH will see those 2 as his main midfield and want to go back to his Ajax set up for sure. He's going to be the marquee signing of the summer for us. He'll directly replace Pogba and get his number I'd say.

Given that the world cup kicks off mid Nov, we need to bed in new signings ASAP.
