Yeah, I mean, don't expect Busquets of course, but in terms of breaking up play, winning tackles and defensive/offensive headers, he's really good. Games like yesterday won't happen so often if Brighton go long.
What’s he like under a press?

Just because you or I dont know doesn't mean scattergun approach. In fact us not knowing gives me more hope that he has been scouted by us.
If it was Tielemens or Neves, people would accuse us of having no scouting. When it’s someone they are t aware of, we are signing a nobody. There’s always a narrative to suit whatever the profile of the player is.

The reality is 95% of people don’t have a clue how these type of signings will work out, so unless you’ve watched them play significantly, best to listen to anyone who has.

More signs that FDJ deal is more or less dead then? Second midfielder we've been linked to since yesterday.

Absolute panic mode at United now. So much for being in control, state of the club.

Reckon we'll sign our version of Ali Dia this summer, in fact I may contact someone at Arnold's local pub saying I'm an agent of a player who's about to sign for City wanting to get to know the locals, reckon that will get United to start showing an interest.

This feels more up the street of trying to be smart with our money and not overspending, which is what I was hoping for in this window.

If he is a no nonsense Argentinian midfielder, I am all for it..
Always loved the aggressiveness of Argentinians.

Is he as good as Simeone ?

FBRef have him most similar to Phillips, Ndidi and Bissouma, so interesting. Sounds more of what we need provided he can play as a sole holding mid.

Was it ever on? This deal was like a necromancer - born dead.
I had my reservations but still believed he would come because of ETH. Not so much anymore after seeing all these links. Arnautovic linked = Sesko deal dead, Rabiot and Guido links = FDJ deal dead??

United are just going after anyone who can kick a ball at this point.

Good defensively, shit on the ball. Morgan Schneiderlin
Passing looks OK for a purest form DM, this is the opposite type DM to Carrick, Alonso, Busquets where he wins the ball and drops it off to someone else.

Maybe this is a plan B like we wanted to go creative 6 route and now we are going pure DM and an 8 but who knows if this link is even real at this point

Does anyone know anything about this lad? Never heard of him personally.
From what I can gather he's actually a proper defensive midfielder. Works hard in defense, screen in front of the CBs. Not the best passer but not the worst either. His main job is stopping the opposition.

He wouldn't be the top of my list but at least he's the type of player that we actually need. Better him than the two other shitters we've been linked with today so expect it not to happen.

If he has Eriksen, Martinez, Maguire around him they can distribute the ball no big deal IMO, and future seasons he can be upgraded and used as a squad option (unless of course his passing isn't that bad / he improves in that area).

Hopefully somehow FDJ joins and we get this guy and McFred never play again apart from the EFL.

It would be moronic to have a limited midfielder on the ball, after spunking 100s of millions on CBs who can play with the ball at their feet.

But then again this is the club, who bought AWB after talking about playing on the front foot and signing Maguire for his ball playing for £80m.

Yeah for completion. But he does nothing with the ball
Not necessarily a terrible thing for a specialist DM. Would be nice if that was in it locker of course, but then he wouldn't be at Betis at 28yrs old costing 20mil.
