If SAF was still our manager he would have been here years ago.If Sir Alex Ferguson was still our manager, Kane will be a United player next summer. I am 100% confident in that. Kane fits United and I will be surprised if we overlook him this summer. Start at £100m, but do not go higher than £150m
Shearer is remembered that way because he's the all the Premier league top scorer. He also turned up in the big international tournaments for England.Shearer won 1 title and is considered the best ever PL forward. I'm sure, with or without trophies, Kane will go down as one of the leagues top, top forwards.
Trophies aren't a criteria for me to judge players on.
might be true, but this summer, I am confident that he will be a United player if sir ferguson was here. Still can’t read what type of players Ole wants. Since getting rid of Lukaku and wanting pace upfront, I don’t see Kane fitting that criteria of his.If SAF was still our manager he would have been here years ago.
Not quite Harry, not quite.Tweet

From what he said it sounds like he wants out, but doubt anyone will pay Levy's asking price of £150M+
Yeah its mental. Its been a decade since we had a decent RW. We'll continue shoehorning strikers rather than buying an actual wingerNot happening, we clearly hate that position. When we finally decided to sign a RW last year, we decided to pay £35m for a kid who played like 30 minutes in Serie A. Hilarious stuff.
You need to know when to sell and reinvest in the team. Those players weren’t anywhere near as good as what Poch was getting out of them. The squad was on its knees and needed to be refreshed and it ended up costing the best manager they could attain, his job.I regularly read "I don't pay attention to spurs, but..." stuff on here that is absurd, but this is a cracker.
So Levy made mistake by not selling Poch's favourite players from under him.
RIGHT
I don’t agree with this at all, even about United, who aren’t at the level of some of those other teams. Shaw is the best LB in the league, we have a good, young goalkeeper. Maguire is a leader and is also at a good age. Pogba is one of most gifted players in the world on his day. Greenwood is one of the most exciting young players in football and there are other examples to be had. There is massive value in the squad.Take Rashford and Bruno out of United and we would be average though. Bruno is at the centre of almost everything good United do going forward.
Same can be said for Salah and Liverpool, Messi and Barca, Ronaldo and Juve, Haaland and Dortmund etc. Most teams have a star or 2 that take the teams to the next level.
.
Not particularly, especially if he only just realised that he plays for a club that makes it hard for him to get out. It is something that was obvious years ago. If winning trophies was something that was important to him, signing a six year contract in 2016 and another six year contract in 2018 was daft. He could have signed shorter contracts and, as he's by far Spurs' most important player he would have got those contracts which would have given him a bit of leeway for when the day inevitably came that he realised Spurs is not the best place to win trophies.Do we feel sorry for him?
I do, Spurs looked like a team on the brink of something special a few years ago, Champions league season after season, new stadium, great manager. I bet he signed that last contract confident they'd be winning things, they then get to the Champions league final and he's again thinking this is great. Since then it's been a huge decline and now the realisation he plays for a club which make it near enough impossible to get out if you are good.
Erikson had to drag his contract out and Kane looks like he has the same issue for me.
I know....last summer fixed nothing, at least not immediately and with the way Ole has used Amad it might be some time before he’s a starter. We spent a lot of money last summer on not a lot of immediate value. I do think Amad will come good in timeNot happening, we clearly hate that position. When we finally decided to sign a RW last year, we decided to pay £35m for a kid who played like 30 minutes in Serie A. Hilarious stuff.
Couldn't agree more, she would have to be very convincing to get my interest. It's not certain you'll get Miss America either.
Have you seen our net spend for the last...forever amount of years. If Sir Alex Ferguson was still our manager, Kane will be a United player next summer. I am 100% confident in that. Kane fits United and I will be surprised if we overlook him this summer. Start at £100m, but do not go higher than £150m
Lack of service? With the constant lack of service up top, would help immensely if Kane was playing at United.
Players never think it through with contract length. Not particularly, especially if he only just realised that he plays for a club that makes it hard for him to get out. It is something that was obvious years ago. If winning trophies was something that was important to him, signing a six year contract in 2016 and another six year contract in 2018 was daft. He could have signed shorter contracts and, as he's by far Spurs' most important player he would have got those contracts which would have given him a bit of leeway for when the day inevitably came that he realised Spurs is not the best place to win trophies.
Although all that being said, even if he had signed shorter contracts I think he would have signed one after Spurs made it to the Champions League final and before Pochettino was sacked which would have still "trapped" him until around 2023 assuming he would have signed a four year deal.
World Cup Golden Boot winner Harry Kane hasn't shown up in tournaments as much as Shearer did?Shearer is remembered that way because he's the all the Premier league top scorer. He also turned up in the big international tournaments for England.
I don't see Kane being remembered as anywhere near someone like Shearer. Unless he has an incredible next 3-4 years, which i don't see happening.
It's funny, as you mention that with Kane and it's true, but maybe it's nostalgia, but it felt like Shearer was properly the best in Europe that summer, and England could and should have won it.World Cup Golden Boot winner Harry Kane hasn't shown up in tournaments as much as Shearer did?
Holy shityou probably right
We are still better than Spurs yes, but we definitely wouldn't be 2nd without Bruno and Rashford, especially Bruno. We have came on massively since he arrived, he has transformed the players around him and their mentality.I don’t agree with this at all, even about United, who aren’t at the level of some of those other teams. Shaw is the best LB in the league, we have a good, young goalkeeper. Maguire is a leader and is also at a good age. Pogba is one of most gifted players in the world on his day. Greenwood is one of the most exciting young players in football and there are other examples to be had. There is massive value in the squad.
The squad is miles better than Spurs and Kane/Son carry that team.
Kane would have been a United player 2 years ago if Fergie was here.If Sir Alex Ferguson was still our manager, Kane will be a United player next summer. I am 100% confident in that. Kane fits United and I will be surprised if we overlook him this summer. Start at £100m, but do not go higher than £150m
Shearer was golden boot at Euro 96 and scored iconic goals in big games. He performed really well in 98 and 00 too.World Cup Golden Boot winner Harry Kane hasn't shown up in tournaments as much as Shearer did?
You think Daniel Levy of all people will sell Tottenhams golden star, who is under long term contract, for anything less than the rights to Old Trafford and half of everything? If Sir Alex Ferguson was still our manager, Kane will be a United player next summer. I am 100% confident in that. Kane fits United and I will be surprised if we overlook him this summer. Start at £100m, but do not go higher than £150m
He said I'll take Miss America as my second choice. I think he's saying we'll definitely get Miss America but as a second choice.
They have Neymar and Mbappe.I think PSG go in hard for Kane if they don't win the CL this year, especially if they fail in the final again.
It would take Kane pulling a real scandalous strop and refusing to play to give it even half a chance. You think Daniel Levy of all people will sell Tottenhams golden star, who is under long term contract, for anything less than the rights to Old Trafford and half of everything?
They played with Cavani, Kane could just slot into that spot. They have Neymar and Mbappe.
He's not getting in over those two.
