How often does VVD get rested? Go back in the past, how about John Terry? Rio? Vidic? To my memory, they weren't, maybe I'm totally wrong, but not in the league, very rarely, perhaps the very odd game. You don't rest your prime and best CB.

Fergie used to rest even key players quite often, but that was Fergie, arguably the greatest master of squad rotation of all-time. Terry is a very good example and I’d use the same one describing Maguire. It’s not a huge issue, although Ole should rest him a bit more considering the amount of non-league games that we have, season after season.

You can only admire Maguire though, I’m not fully happy with all of his performances, but you can’t argue with how important has fitness been to us.

Im not so sure , Maguire already has had an immensly physical strain on his body this season, its really playing with fire in that case..

plenty of centre backs play huge volume of games, it isn't the same as being an attacking mid where you need to sprint a lot more. this is a great thing.
