I do think there's a good chance that we actually get our targets in early this summer. Mount done and I reckon Onana will be done soon too. I'll give Murtough and co credit for that, even though I'm far from convinced we got a good deal for Mount. Striker seems the tougher one at the moment but more in terms of not many intriguing targets out there.

We desperately need to start making some sales and trying to recoup some dosh too. You'd think Fred and Martial could garner some interest from Saudi? Seems a perfect fit.

We all know the main positions we need to replace, but one position that worries me is defensive mid. Between Casemiro's supsensions and loss of form there was quite a chunk of games where he wasn't at it. Add in champs league next season, games coming thick and fast at a higher level than last season, we really need a specialist as back up/challenge Casemiro in that role. You seen the balance Casemiro brought to us last season when he was playing well. I'm not sure we have the funds to be honest with Mount, Keeper and striker, but I'd hate to go another season at looking at Fred or McT if either stays as back up to Casemiro.

Does no one think we need more competition for Anthony on the RW/IWF position? He's got to step up this year or we're in trouble.

We have Amad and Sancho (if Garnacho is 2nd choice on lw). Plus unresolved issue with one sick bastard.

The fact we have paid £55m for Mount, and soon to be paying ~£45m for Onana, shows to me that we have a lot more than this branded £100m transfer budget.

We still have another two more signings in us I feel, one being a striker who will have to be minimum £50m given the state of the market at the moment.

It’ll just be nice to get some solid departures going. Maguire, McTominay or Fred firstly, just to hopefully get a significant sum in through the door.

Right now i would put Pellistri in front of both of these guys. I still to see Amad as a only a possible. Sancho unfortunately for him and the fans hasn't worked out. He should be moved on if at all possible with those gold laced wages.

As always, we‘ll do a big signing 2 matchdays into the season after we had a shambolic start and then go on with the new guy needs time and a „full pre season“ to perform properly.

Don't think a striker is happening this summer. We'll have to hope that Rashford has another good spell and Martial remains injury free for at least a few weeks and can grab a handful of goals.
Most likely Rashford will have a decent season but won’t match the figures from the last while Martial will do something like 4 league goals

I think we will sell for a maximum of 40m, but likely less than that. That will get us Onana and a 60m striker and maybe a young CM. Kane is the obvious target but he is too expensive.

Mount, Onana and x striker is an incredible boost to this squad surely.
I think Onana would have a bigger influence than Mount. I think it's unwise to even assume Mount will have a bigger influence than pre injury Eriksen. He's going to have to work for his position unless he comes out of pre season firing. The striker depends largely on the quality of the player. Undoubtedly its impossible to not improve upon Weghorst even if a younger prospect is aquired.

I think United struggled down the right to some degree last season, if the plan is to play two 8s I think Frimpong as a fullback is a good option to offset the need for Antony to be a key player in attack, if he can also tuck into midfield than that's a plus because AWB certainly won't offer that comfort in possession.

I'm a fan of Eriksens but imo Mount will be an upgrade as he has an incredible engine and workrate as well as being very good on the ball. Too often last season, Eriksen was overrun in midfield.

Towards the end of the season - Eriksen looked done and dusted. A replacement was needed. Mount will improve Eriksen by allowing him rest.

Still need more quality if midfield though - I’d keep McT unless we get a £50mil offer. Fred can go to bolster the transfer kitty.

I'm pretty happy with that although it's still realistically not a title challenging side just yet. The year after this season maybe

Has it been posted that Sevilla has put their entire squad for sale as they are in debt. Surely there would be some good deals there

I know I've always been awful with financial stuff, but why are we so hamstrung by FFP while Arsenal are spending a huge amount, City always do and Chelsea splashed out something like £700m last year? We are never going to be able to compete next season on a budget of £100m (I realise we are poor, to say the least, at getting money for our players)

Anyone else a bit worried that we've still got loads to do (buying and selling) with only 6 weeks left until the start of the season?

I genuinely don't think we'll have a striker signed by 14th August

Do you think that our transfer window would be much different if we got new owner on time? Kane instead Hojlund, right back, Rice or Caicedo with Mount etc...
Also selling players would be maybe faster.
I read on MEN few days ago that owner can invest some amount of fresh capital which would increase our budget regarding FFP.

This is so annoying

See Arsenal trying to build on there second place which is something Glazer's never allowed when Utd ended it in CL spots instead of building onwards to fight for a title, we got some good players like Casemiro who is gonna be old in a couple of seasons ish so need to build for now and future but nothing is happening and nothing new on the sale of the club

Can't wait for those Glazer leeches to be gone

Possibly Mount and a replacement Keeper if we manage to push De Gea out will be our lot I think.
I can pretty much guarantee we won't make top 4 without reinforcing our striker options.

Other teams aren't standing still

We really need to get going and sort the striker and midfield situation within the next week or so.

There is no excuse for starting the season without this being sorted.

Biggest issue this summer is still unaddressed and it's the passive wide players who offer no threat whatsoever. It's not evidence of them being bad individual players but that they are all assembled together at the wrong time in their development. One new to the league, another hasn't solidified his identity in the position (Sancho) and the last who looks one of the most promising players in years but should be given time to accommodate to first team football as is the case with any top competitive team.

Rashford is the only genuine player with any accreditation and merit for his position out wide. It's almost comical the attacking dynamic is so bad that the most useful wide player in their most efficient position is being integrated into a centre forward role. Rashford having such a great season last campaign is as much a good reflection of his capabilities as it is on how bad the other options are in and around those areas.

I'm just a spectator but how in the world could this hierarchy/ management assess last season and come up with the idea of Mount. Again this isn't to ridicule the players ability, the midfield certainly needs some surgery but objectively which area was the bigger issue last season the midfield or the players. It's that ridiculous of a comparison there's minimal discussion for an argument for the wide players they underperformed massively and if Rashford didn't get into double figures this team would be in the Europa league again.

Any news on a second keeper? I hope we sign that Wakanda Volkswagen from the Jleague, something more exciting about unknown players.

Can see us getting 2 more in. Hojlund and maybe Amrabat, although that will depend if we sell Fred/Mctominay.
