Well if Martinez comes in we’ve definitely addressed LCB and surely DeJong and Eriksen address CM.
i suspect there is a plan to either not play a specific DM or work with what we have.
I suspect Dalot will be RB and I assume we will pick up a forward in the coming weeks
Wouldn't be surprised to see Martinez deployed in midfield on occasions.

Sorry he is, don't know why I went down that road at all

Porro (Sporting) is probably the RB I'd go for or give Dalot a chance under the new system
In fairness he’s a good player so I can see why you thought of him. Hopefully we’ve got a new star in Malacia though!
My gut is telling me that he will use what we have already for RB. At least this season

Yeah seems a real lack of options at RB hence why I see us going with existing ones for now

£4.7m net spend so far, which will have been saved via the Henderson loan, let alone all the players leaving on a free

So effectively 5th July and no real business done.

LB and CM in the bag in Malacia and Eriksen...

CB, CM/CDM, ST and RW left seems to be consensus.

If we get that it looks like we could have a decent first 11 for the season.

Maybe we've delayed RB and CDM until next year and will let Dalot, AWB, Fred and McTominay prove their worth if not replace one in each position next summer.

Absolutely convinced we only get one of ST & RW and would say it's Ronaldo dependent, so if he stays we target a left footed RW but if he goes then switches to a ST

Yeh I'd agree with that, only a slight chance we get both. If Greenwood was around if would be definitely one.

Tomorrow is United's last day in England for a good 3 weeks.

Murtough will probably go, like Woodward used to, for whatever reason.

Think we will hear any news by tomorrow night? Surely can't go on tour with Malacia the only confirmed signing..

You say it like its not happened before...

It will likely be Malacia and Eriksen I guess.

Malacia, Eriksen, Martinez, FDJ and another 2 players would be a great window for me.

Ok, a bit slow but i'd be happy with that.
Depends massively on who the other 2 are to be fair, because in the initial list, there's only one obvious starter there.

Presumably we will bring in a back-up GK, so that leaves one more. Personally think we need an immediate first-team fix for RB or in attack for it to be a great window.

Depends who goes and our line up next season. Out of that lot only FDJ is a starter. Personally cant see Malacia starting over Shaw, Matinez over Maguire and Varane and Eriksen double pivot with FDJ? Just cant see it. Maybe Ten Hag is planning some crazy sht. In fantasy land maybe, just maybe thats going to happen. Lets see. Eriksen is an interesting purchase with both Donny and Bruno there so maybe he has a plan for something different. But if I was to bet my house on it - if we buy those players we will have the exact team as last season with De Jong starting but minus Ronaldo and a better bench. Will we be better? Sure. A lot better? Nope.

It looks like he is just replacing the players that have left and not improved the first team bar FDJ. Plus the net spend will be around 80. Is that an acceptable reaction to last season?

If we're basing our transfer activity on what we have rather than what we may have then so far I think it's been a bit of a car crash.

We've bought a young and promising left back for a position that although weak is not our weakest i.e. Shaw, Telles and Williams (yet to be sold).

Eriksen is a good player and we got him on a free......great but do we really know if he's physically up to a more intense participation after what he's been through?

Other than that, we have nothing else.

De Jong still isn't here yet and the longer it drags on the more likely he isn't coming.

As of this point we are weaker than last season, so this window needs to improve drastically before it closes as I think we’ll be finding ourselves in 6th place again.

I'm impatient with what little transfer business we've done so far, but it is what it is. It would have been great to see Frenkie join the squad for the tour but a long season awaits us and in the end pre-season tours are more about letting the lesser players prove what they've got more than it is about marquee players getting sharp.

Sign Pedersen from Feyenoord for the RB position. Quick, attacking, good technique and actually knows how to cross

Constantly at the STD clinic.
I'm still not panicking but we have replaced Pogba, Cavani, Matic, Mata, Lingard with Malacia and Erikson so far. I know the players gone were useless for us but we really need the De Jong signing confirmed to calm my nervous.

I agree that we’re probably only going to get one but I still think we need both. Who plays right wing if we sell Ronaldo and get a striker? We might still go for a right winger and trial martial/rashford upfront. With the creativity we now have in Fernandes and eriksen those 2 should hit higher numbers. I would prefer a proper goal scoring type up front though who gets on the end of everything.

One day until we out fly for pre-season. Current net-spend on a squad that produced their worst finish in Premier League history: £2m.

It's far from ideal is my most positive take on it. We can all claim its being lined up but the timing is problematic and the risk of things falling through and us being left short is not insignificant.

Safe to say this is going about as bad as possible or near to it.

You wouldn't think we just had our worst PL season.

Had been relatively relaxed about how things were going but jetting off on preseason with a significantly worse squad than finished last season is a huge concern. A season in which the club were an absolute disgrace. They knew a significant amount of players were going on a free and still have only signed a back up left back…

I suppose we can only fully judge how bad things are at the end of the window but given past performance it seems incredibly unlikely that United will suddenly pull off all the deals they need to be competitive.

That's nonsensical. They've played for years. We know their worth and it ain't much

Players shouldn't get a fresh start every manager. Truth is we keep these players because they have nowhere better to go.

Our sqaud is significantly worse than last season and even if we get another 3-4 players it'll still probably be worse. It's really not acceptable.

Yeah this window is needing a serious boost in urgency and quality.

Ronaldo going, Pogba and Matic gone. 3 regular first team players out the door.

Mata, Lingard, Henderson, Cavani. 4 squad players out. Pereira sale, although was never going to play is still basically going to cover the cost of Malacia.

Confirmed in Malacia and hopefully confirmed today Eriksen?, a free transfer.
2 squad players in. Maybe I’m wrong and they both start but we are certainly weaker than last season.

4 weeks 4 days until Maguire unfortunately leads the team out v Brighton. I still don’t see FDJ joining and have never been that confident despite reports of fees agreed.

I’m really worried about the season ahead personally, can’t see more than a 6th place finish as it stands with more protests, unrest etc on the horizon.

So what’s happening with Eriksen, doesn’t seem to have a thread despite our interest seeming pretty clear. Papers seem to indicate he’s agreed to join, but no sign or talk of medicals from what I can see, no announcements? Is it actually happening and why is that transfer so neglected by the caf?

Totally agree. Surprised so many people are thinking that even if we get FDJ then it's a decent transfer window.

ETH has bet the morale of our squad on getting FDJ. If this falls through now then it puts us on an instant downer before a ball is kicked. If we were any other team I wouldn't be so cynical of our determination and gumption but with what we saw last year with this fickle crew I would not be expecting any improvement.

People are talking about 6th position as being the worst that could happen to us next season!
