Never thought there would be a day when seeing Phelan back on our bench would make me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Great to have him back!

He should of never of left in the first place. As soon as Moyes came in he ripped apart our winning formula and got rid of the coaching staff. The absolute idiot.

Him urging calm at the 70th-minute mark and calling for the midfield substitutions to kill off the game was vintage United under Sir Alex. It was Phelan all along?

I suppose there's no real reason he won't stay now, unless a managerial job comes calling?

He just makes me feel safe.

Whenever I feel like 'Does Ole know what he's doing?", I see Phelan and I immediately think it will be alright.

The undoubted real genius of Ferguson's success. Just wait until the weather improves. Shorts Phelan will have us unstoppable.

I said it and I'll say it again, a brilliant assistant who should be in contention with the job under the next manager, he's far more useful than the likes of Giggs in such position. Was amazing to see him again imo.

Whoever is the manager at the start of next season could do a lot worse then keeping Phelan at the club

It's nice seeing him back on the bench. He's a good bloke is Phelan and his experience and knowledge will be invaluable to Ole.

Not directed at you specifically, but hindsight is a bitch as I remember this decision being praised at that time.
I can't recall who praised it, but it seemed like a questionable decision, and ended up playing out just so. 'Hindsight' was simply fact awaiting its outworking.

Too right, he’s not even reached his full form yet

How could anyone have praised this ? Unbelievable, doesn't even need to know the future to know it was a terrible decision for an upcoming manager.

One of the worst things that Moyes did but could turn out to be one of the smartest things Ole does. Says he sees McKenna, Carrick and himself and says they lack some real experience in there, so he brings in Phelan. Perfect to compliment them.

The reason is even worse i guess, all that bringing his own people like to prove that he is the man..
That was such a dirty feeling having Evertons bench sitting on MANCHESTER UNITEDS bench. It was as if they hijacked us.

No it wasn’t. Everyone was saying all Steve Round does is carry balls, and the other one looked like Lou Carpenter from neighbours.

I never said the people he appointed were praised, but the idea that he was clearing out Fergie's people and was 'going to be his own man' by not having the spectre of Fergie hanging around was lauded at that time. Of course that all changed when things started going south and we heard news out of the dressing room like Ferdinand being told to study Jagielka(?)

Allowing Moyes to ditch the coaching staff was the second most stupid decision sanctioned by the club since 2013. The first one was giving Moyes the managers job in the first place.

So obvious we should have promoted Phelan & kept all the other staff & maybe allowed the likes of Giggs & Scholes to join the lower tier coaches to start earning their stripes. SAF could/would have been on tap for advice if/when needed.

Bootroom worked for LFC through Shankly, Paisley & Fagan for Christ sake??? Surely it was worth a shot ffs?

Why reinvent the wheel and chuck the baby out with the bath water? Seemed to be working well enough didn’t it?

feckin idiots.
