Has Dana been killed off? Stopped watching the show because of her.
Hopefully with Brody gone there'll be no need to focus on members of his family so we'll avoid the completely irrelevant and mundane episodes. Unless his wife wants to get her tits out again, in that case...

I really shouldn't watch it again but I know I won't be able to help myself because I'm already invested. The whole plot with Carrie's mental health actually being a ploy was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if at the end of the 4th series she wakes up and it was actually all a dream, it was on that level.

first episode was good, second was poor. Not really sure why they grouped them together as they were clearly meant to be viewed separate, they were set in entirely different countries!

Killing off Brody was the right thing to do, I see no reason why they can't still make it an enjoyable show with him/his shit family in it anymore.

I watched the first two episodes last night. What an ugly baby!!

I caught up to the start last night, you ain't wrong.

Actually an interesting start, looking forward to seeing how this pans out but at this point Carrie is an extremely dislikeable character.

Anyone else still following this? Missed the first two episodes but have now caught up and I'm afraid to say this has slowly turned into utter horse turd. The slow paced nature of the show doesn't work anymore. The baby and Carrie's sister have replaced Chris and Dana. It's really a drag to watch now.

Don't know if I'll carry on watching this.

I thought season 2 was average and season 3 was shit, and only kept going because my Wife wants to, but I'm actually enjoying the first few episodes of season 4. The Brodie storyline just got too ridiculous for me but the current direction of the show has potential.

This, from TH, is one of my favourite posts ever on the Caf'.

This is an absolute train-wreck of a television show.

You watching the most recent season? I got sick of that not even half way through.

Partner watches it, and both my father and sister watch it too, so I'm well versed on what's going on.

It's an abomination.
First season's alright, it starts going downhill quickly after that. I stopped watching for a bit in both the second and third seasons.

Are you guys in US up to the 3rd episode already? I just watched the 2nd tonight on UK TV.

Yeah, you's were right about the baby and Quinn :houllier:.The first episode was decent, but after watching this one its just looks like more melodrama that bored us to death in previous seasons.

You just knew the writers would point us into the child neglect direction along with Carrie's mental health issue. The Brody family's now replaced with Carrie and the 'Family or professionalism' dilemma.

First season was great, but from that on it was worse and worse, storyline quickly became ridiculous. It seemed they filmed it just for the sake of it.

So from posts here I gather 4th season isnt worth watching?

I'm actually quite enjoying the new season and I think it is a lot better than the previous one. I will admit that the Carrie 'pornstar' moments aren't the best but they are not really ruining the show for me. Much more intriguing plot this time round.

It's not atrocious or dreadful, is it? Why do people have to use fecking hyperbole in this place? think of something you've seen that's terribly dreadful. Does it belong in that category?

So it's not Breaking Bad or The Wire but half the time these tv threads are ruined because half the posts are pointless ones with people telling other people "they're done". Why not just stop watching it without telling everyone your intention to do so?

So I only properly discovered this last week, after signing up for the free months trial with netflix, and I couldn't believe what I'd been missing. That first season was easily one of the best pieces of TV I've seen. I was going to come in here and lavish praise, but thought I'd watch the second season first. And now I'm sad.

I was actually quite worried about a second season not living up to the first, but was very pleasantly surprised at first. In fact, up until Brody got taken away in a helicopter to meet with the most wanted terrorist in the world who had managed to sneak into the US by having a clean shave, I thought the second season was really really good. But ever since then its just been utter shite. Did they change the writers mid season or something? I'm now 3 episode into the 3rd season, and I'm close to giving up. Without giving it away, is it worth staying with, or does it just carry on being crap?

As an aside, why have so many characters completely disappeared? And I don't mean died, but actually just completely vanished, for no apparent reason. I'm presuming (hoping) they might come back, but so far...

Mike - Finally gets the chance to be with Brody's wife for real, only to disappear in season 3.
Galvez - Last seen being accused of assisting Nazier based on the fact that he's a Muslim (:houllier::lol:), only to find out he was half bleeding to death. Hasn't been seen since. Maybe he never did get that wound patched up.
Virgil - Honestly haven't got a clue what happened to him or when we last saw him.
Max - Same as Virgil

Season 3 is poor, very poor but in my opinion its worth sticking with as I have enjoyed season 4 so far. Although after reading through this thread I don't think that's a popular opinion.

I'll stick with it, I'm not convinced though.

I'm up to episode 4 of season 3 and I honestly can't remember what happened to Max, or when I last saw him. Virgil and Mike have returned from the dead mind, Galvez is still MIA though :(

I'm actually starting to enjoy season 3 now. The shift of focus away from the Brody family onto Saul, Carrie and Quinn has been much better.

Really enjoyed this season after being very critical of the previous one. The last few episodes have all been brilliant.

More action oriented that's for sure and to the point it gets stupid like 24. The end of the last episode reminded of when the Sangala general and his men took over the White House

yeah it is largely just 24 now except Jack Bauer tortured people whereas Carrie just runs around PMSing and sleeping with everyone she meets.

Finally finished season 3, and I have to say I really enjoyed it in the end. It started terribly, but after that episode that focused on just Brody and the weird doctor (episode 3 or 4 iirc) and they moved away from Dana and the Brody family, I thought it was excellent. Yes some things were ridiculous (any more ridiculous then an American soldier getting into a bunker with a bomb vest on ready to blow up the Vice President?) but still great TV to watch. I also really enjoyed the final episode and thought the ending (Carrie drawing the star) was a great way to finish it. The only things that bug me a bit is we never found out who the mole was, or who moved the car. And what happened to Galvez.

I'm hoping Season 4 will focus a lot on Saul (easily the best thing about the show) and Carrie. Is Quinn in season 4?

Half way through season 3, just wondering if anyone has any ideas when the 4th season will be put on Netflix?

Yeah I was wondering that too. I'm guessing it might be once season 4 has finished they'll put it all up. Just a guess though.

I've read somebody's post on what could be happening.

Don't read if you haven't seen S04E11 yet.

Dar Adal said "It's a sentimental idea (...) that our people come before the mission". Those words suggest that USA purposefully scarified the embassy and its workers.

The last scene (Dar Adal in the car) suggests that Haqqani secretly works with USA (with the help of ISI).

What is the big mission then? The only thing I can think of is that USA is trying to establish Haqqani as their guy at the top of the Taliban in Afghanistan. What do you guys think about that? What other goal could there be?

BTW, In this context it could have been Dar Adal’s idea to kidnap Saul to get Haqqani his important people in exchange. Dar Adal probably also knew about the planned RPG strike at the car convoy with Saul and Carrie. I think Dar Adal was behind Mira’s call to locate in which of the cars is Saul (rockets hit two other vehicles).
