For some reason that (silly) horror moview, starring Justin Long, left quite a scary impression on +- 16 year old me:

Since when has Beetlejuice and Gremlins been horror though thats what i took from that list.
It is a quality movie, my third favourite from Carpenter. With his best work being "The Thing" and "Big Trouble In Little China".Watched 'They Live' on the Horror Channel last night. Meg Foster's eyes!! Think I'm going to have to dig out Masters of The Universe for another fix.
I'm not sure, I think the monster was good in the first movie but his antics got a bit stupid in the follow ups.It was a good film until you saw the monster.
Aye, I enjoyed it. Though it doesn't view well upon 2nd/3rd viewings....or I just got oldIt was a good film until you saw the monster.
Glad you didn't mention Ghosts of Mars but yeah I 100% concur. It is a quality movie, my third favourite from Carpenter. With his best work being "The Thing" and "Big Trouble In Little China".
I've not seen it since it came out, but that's my recollection of it. It was genuinely quite creepy, especially when they went into some cave like tunnel/lair place. Then the monster is revealed and it went a bit shite. It was a good film until you saw the monster.
Which bits scared you the most?!Doctor Strange (2016)
Seen this in 2D at the Odeon this afternoon. Not your conventional super-hero movie but decent fun nonetheless. You even get a brief explanation as to how they have different priorities to the Avengers gang who are referenced a couple of times during the movie. This would probably have been good in 3D but the films seldom justify the extra ticket price outlay, so I didn't bother. This is one of the rare super-hero movies that although chock full of extravagant special effects still manages to tell a story without leaving you somewhat unfulfilled though the characters will probably get more development in future sequels. This is more like an Inception film on steroids with some bits of humour thrown in. Nice teaser at the end which obviously I won't spoil for anyone. Yeah I quite enjoyed this. Be interested to see where this goes in the sequel.
I'm giving this a 7.5/10.
Ha ha my bad! Just realised the error of my ways!Which bits scared you the most?!
I got a few classics lined up for this weekend:
Dagon - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0264508/?ref_=nv_sr_1
From Beyond - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091083/?ref_=nv_sr_1
I love this film. A very creepy movie all in. So good and you can literally see the moment where the writer of the Ring started to put pen to paper. This scene from a movie 30-40 years ago scared the absolute crap out of me.
No idea if a similar scene in a contemporary movie would have the same effect. Or if it needed to be watched when I was a) younger and b) not used to modern, effects-laden movies from the same genre.
Either way, it's one of the most creepy scenes I can remember from any movie ever.
Which one? two came out last year, on with Maggie from walking dead about a doll and one made by spectrevision about a boy and his dad?Last December a few of us went for this movie 'The Boy' I think it was called.
Never before was I bored of a horror film. Nothing happens till movie is an hour and 15 mins up then there is like 15 minutes of the film left
the first one. an american girl goes to England for being a babysitter (or vice versa, i dont remember to be honest )Which one? two came out last year, on with Maggie from walking dead about a doll and one made by spectrevision about a boy and his dad?
I thought both of those we over hyped, especially the witch.
The Witch is very good. This and Babadook are my favourite horrors in the last couple of years.
1. HalloweenIt is a quality movie, my third favourite from Carpenter. With his best work being "The Thing" and "Big Trouble In Little China".
The Thing is a better horror movie I think, but Halloween was more defining.1. Halloween
Then comes everything else.
The Thing is my favourite. Closest thing to a Lovecraft movie ever.1. Halloween
Then comes everything else.
I have. Was ok, but I didn't like the ending and it was all a bit body horror I felt. The maggot bit, for instance, didn't really work for me.I thought both of those we over hyped, especially the witch.
Anyone seen Starry Eyes? Really enjoyed that a few years ago bit it's not one many people seem to have seen...
Loved the Witch
The Witch is very good. This and Babadook are my favourite horrors in the last couple of years.
I haven't seen white dog but the innocents is one of my favorite horror films. These are the bees knees.
I watched it last night on Netflix. I enjoyed it a lot.Watched Hush yesterday, not bad for 80 mins entertainment, quite tense.
I throw another vote out there for the V/H/S series, as they're shorts it can be hit and miss, but there are some interesting ones in there.
Has anyone seen the new Blair Witch?
