How about Laurent Blanc?

No for me.

Can you expand on how your happy with either mate.
What? I'd be happy with either because they'd both be a big improvement on LVG. Blanc plays attractive football and is clearly a talented top flight manager, Mourinho is Mourinho.

Not flashy enough for me. A Manchester United manager should wear a cape, and a hat like Napolean's, while smoking a two-metre cigar.

So PSG get Jose and we get their reject.... The levels this club has fallen to, is frankly unbelievable.

When did this happen:confused:

:D

Lol sorry hypothetically speaking but some on here think this would be a great thing, I'm truly lost for words.

Maureen I can see at United, but Blanc is one huge risk, psg is a shoe in for title every year, we need the best money can get at this mother fecking juncture.

That's basically it, in a nutshell.
They take Mourinho. They take Di Maria.
They give us Blanc, because he isn't good enough. They give us Ibrahimovic because he is getting old.
So, IF all of the above happens, we would effectively be PSG's toilet. Anybody they want to dump, they send to MUFC.

In saying all of that...Mourinho is ours!!! PSG can wish.

Echoes of when we had moyes and 'LVG can't be worse than moyes' was a reason given for every post in every thread

Blanc just isn't proven, would be a poor appointment when there are managers that have managed in a decent league out there

I'd prefer not repeating the past 3 years. Why are people constantly looking for some kind of clever option when the obvious options (or option, now) are obvious for a reason?
Exactly, now is not the time to be messing around. It's going to be kill or be killed in this league for the next five years.

Two metre? I'm fecking disappointed in you

Btw, why does everyone only mention his PSG work? Was winning the title with Bordeaux really easy or something?

Yeah sure lets get another average manager and have to suffer for the next 2 seasons all over again.

The ONLY smart and very realistic option is Mourinho.

While I do think that Mourinho appears to be the logical option, I don't think that he's the ONLY guy who can do a quality managerial job at United. Clubs often appoint unfancied managers who go on to out perform more fancied rivals. The whole Pochettino/LVG at Spurs/United is a good example of that.

Yeah but mourinho is ready to go right now. There is a few different managers I wouldn't mind but they will be risky appointments. If Moyes and LVG has taught us anything then we need a proven winner that can change the club and quick I think mourinho will do that

What are his strengths?
A United manager should have at least few of the following:

Attacking / entertaining football or a successfully playing style
Good man management and motivation skills
Winning mentality
Progress with youth
Good tactician
Good in the transfer market

I think he has succeeded in all these areas, personally.

The feck, this guy had won multiple league titles not only with PSG but Bordeaux as well. He had won 8 trophies in 9 years as a manager, and yet people thinks that Giggs is better? I understand that if you do not rate him and not want him to be the manager, but saying that someone with 0 experience as a manager to be better? This forum's intelligence astounds me sometimes :wenger:.

We're romantics.

He had a pretty impressive record at Bordeaux and you could justifiably argue that his career has been on an upward progression since then. Certainly a left of field appointment but by no means a patch on Moyes or LVG in my opinion.

Blanc is a good coach, he proved it by winning League 1 with Bordeaux playing some nice football. He did well enough with the national team when it was 'between' the last and current generation - didn't do anything wrong, and laid some good groundwork for the new coach.

At PSG he's also done well - but it would have been hard to mess it up given a pretty unlimited budget and a very weak league.

He has excellent man management skills, even if he can be a bit soft, but sadly he's never really been put under very high pressure, and is certainly not in Mourinho's league. Better choice than Giggs though by a country mile!

You have an unhealthy obsession with Giggs and class of 92.

Google OCD

I was answering to a post about blanc and I insist he's an upgrade on the likes of gaz and Giggs which I believe it's a quite fair remark to say?

Are you a psychologist or its a matter or you speaking out of your arse? I think that's its more of the latter considering that no psychologist would diagnose people who they never met. I also think that bringing in mental illnesses to attack a fellow poster does sound a bit insensitive

I don't buy into blanc,I'm not saying he is a bad manager but I wouldn't put him up there with the best. He is a big fish in a very small pond.

You derailing every thread with your Giggs nonsense is getting tedious. Grow up!

Your comments were insensitive and has nothing to do about football. I have mates who have Ocd and its is a serious matter.

The least said about this the better but let me tell you that you fecked up big time

Can't tell if this is serious or not? Specially with the last bit.

God no. The way he set up PSG vs City was one of the biggest examples of mismanagement I can ever remember in such a high profile game. Total misuse of resources and he should never ever get the United job. Winning the league with that PSG team is like winning the SPL with Celtic the last few years, you don't hear anyone asking for Delia though.
