Great minds think alike.Shearer was the ultimate finisher, Henry was the ultimate all round attacking player. Aguero is closer to Shearer I think than to Henry because he seems a natural finisher, no way he has the all round ability peak Henry had.
Fair. That said, if Ronaldo is often in the conversation of best ever PL player, then I’d have Suarez in any striker list, above Rooney for me. I also think Persie, while he was fit, was well in the argument too.Imho its the following order of premier league strikers.
Henry
Shearer
Kun
Rooney
For me Henry is further ahead of Shearer than Shearer is Aguero and Rooney. Had Aguero the same number of games as Shearer he's probably be above him imho. Rooney is somewhat tarnished by his later years but the guy was world class until his late 20's.
Suarez would be close. I personally wouldn't put Ronnie as best PL players of all time as much as one of the best players of all time who happened to spend some time in the PL. Someone like Giggs has offered a lot more to the PL imho.Fair. Rooney and Henry were alround strikers so it depends what you're looking for, it's not as if Rooney didn't get you goals and I would say a prime Rooney would keep Kun out of a Pep side due to how he could play across the frontline.Imho its the following order of premier league strikers.

he was indeed, but he fell off a cliff about age 28 which is why I'd put him below Kun. Aguero is 30 and still as consistent as when he's always been, Rooney was practically finished at that age. He also after his knee operation for the first time in 4 or 5 years has the explosive Aguero pace back, which is why he's playing no.10 today behind Jesus. Again though I'd say the gap between Rooney, Shearer and Kun is tight and they are much closer to each other than anyone is to Henry.Rooney and Henry were alround strikers so it depends what you're looking for, it's not as if Rooney didn't get you goals and I would say a prime Rooney would keep Kun out of a Pep side due to how he could play across the frontline.
He was like a cross between Aguero and a better version of Jesus.
He'll have someone else's say too.Kane will surely have his say in this too. Probably by the end of the season.
Ronaldo’s PL best is probably the best the PL has ever seen, so PL level alone, I would have him in there. He was the best PL player for a spell here, and the best PL player ever, for a spell here. The only PL player to win the World Player of the Year. Micheal Owen won Euro Player of the Year once at Liverpool but was obviously never in that same conversation.Suarez would be close. I personally wouldn't put Ronnie as best PL players of all time as much as one of the best players of all time who happened to spend some time in the PL. Even while he was in the league Aguero had a better goals to game, goals per minute ratio than Suarez, If I had to include him on his short time I'd put him in somewhere between Kun and Rooney.
He was immense. Its hard to realize just how good Shearer was before his injuries. He was still very good, but before that he was lightning quick as well
Maybe, but Rooney started so young that he already had a fantastic 10/11 years when he hit his decline at 28.he was indeed, but he fell off a cliff about age 28 which is why I'd put him below Kun. Without a doubt.Maybe, but Rooney started so young that he already had a fantastic 10/11 years when he hit his decline at 28.
Its really hard to hold longevity against him, especially when young Rooney was the best version of Rooney.
His and Henry numbers are ridiculous when you consider how much less time they spent in the box between them.
I think it’s the opposite - longevity is a plus for Rooney. At his very best, I’m not sure if he was unanimously the best in the league. I think his best was the year after Ronaldo left, he was excellent, but I don’t remember if he was the top scorer in the league or voted PL player of the year that year.Maybe, but Rooney started so young that he already had a fantastic 10/11 years when he hit his decline at 28.

Lampard scored quite a few penalties to be fair, which is another plus for Aguero I think. He has a ridiculous goals to games record as it is, and as far as I recall, Yaya Toure was always City’s penalty taker too. Aguero’s record would be even more impressive if you added say, 15 penalties.I think if he was a little less injury prone he would be there bu for me Shearer and then Henry. I have to also mention Lampard, considering he is a midfielder he was an amazing goal scorer.
England simply had better players playing in the EPL back then, if Utd did well then Ronaldo got the accolades and if we didn't do well then it went to the world class players from the champions.I think it’s the opposite - longevity is a plus for Rooney. I think when looking at it more holistically, he was always in and around the best for a fair number of years, and that helps him more than simply looking at his top level, which I think was bettered by a few.
Another thread which has nothing to do with Spurs and Kane but brought into it anyway.Kane will surpass all of them by the time he retires.
And if people want to use the well what has he won argument...even if he isn't part of a team that cleans up domestically etc noone can argue about his goalscoring record.
In fact, I'd argue his repertoire of finishes so far in his career are better than any of the strikers listed. I think only Shearer can say he scores as many different types of goals as Kane does.
Agree with this.England simply had better players playing in the EPL back then, if Utd did well then Ronaldo got the accolades and if we didn't do well then it went to the world class players from the champions.
Winning seemed to mean more back then, now you can stat pad and receive the same level of acclaim without the success.
Which year you reckon he should have won? It's a travesty he never won Ballon d'Or/FIFA POTY when he was in PL.
2012 for sure, player of the season, I don’t think he’s ever been in a pfa team or won an individual awardWhich year you reckon he should have won?
He should have won in 2004.Which year you reckon he should have won?
Judging from most of his posts, I'd be surprised if he watches any football outside of Spurs let alone games from 15-20 years ago.Another thread which has nothing to do with Spurs and Kane but brought into it anyway.
While you're at it, let me break it down in very simple terms to you. Henry just had far more natural ability than Kane, he was simply a better player. Kane will always be compared to Shearer rather than likes of Henry and Ronaldo when he finishes.
If you think his finishes are better than the strikers listed then I'm afraid you haven't really watched a lot of them.
He'll have someone else's say too.
Lampard scores 32 penalties, yeah it’s double Agureo’s but still, Lampard is a legend of the a PL.Lampard scored quite a few penalties to be fair, which is another plus for Aguero I think.
