Todibo - 30
Frimpong (or similar) -25
Paulinha - 50
Guirassy - 20
Whether it’s January or the summer I would go for this

DM Amadou Onana - 40/50m
RW Kudus - 50m
CB Todibo - 40m
RB Frimpong - 30/40m
ST Guirassy -20/25m
Baffling that people think Guirassy is obtainable now for 20mil when he's just behind Kane in goals and over 1:1 production

We need a new front three more than anything in my opinion. The defence is good when all are fit, the midfield is average but the attack is seriously poor for our level.

Money from sales can then be used to buy a new midfielder and CB but we badly need a new LW, striker and RW.

Bringing Greenwood back could lead to only needing to buy two positions in the front three but that depends on whether we decide to keep him. From a business perspective that makes more sense to free up two midfield signings which we desperately need.

Don't think there is likely to be another £200m for a very long time. Selling a bunch of players who we will probably need to Saudi Arabia doesn't seem like the best idea either.

If we were to somehow come into some money, then we need a couple of decent centre backs, a left back, a couple of decent midfielders to go along with our single decent midfielder who is still a teenager, probably a versatile winger who can switch between wings depending on which of Garnacho/Antony is currently looking rubbish, and a striker who can take some of the burden from Hojlund.

Probably priority signings would be the striker and one of both midfielder and defender.

But as it stands the only people coming into any money are the Glazers.

With the January transfer window approaching and stories like this:

It feels like we're in the middle of a rebuild squadwise. With that in mind we are faced with a few questions, do we go for youth or experience; quantity or quality and what positions need to be addressed most urgently.

Keeper isa question mark. I'm a fan of Onana but he's made too many mistakes and there are legitimate question marks about his technique. I would not spend in this position yet but can understand if some might.

Defenders. We need reinforcements especially if we're moving on from Varane. I don't want us giving Maguire a new contract either so it could be time to move him on too. A couple center backs and a couple full backs wouldn't be ridiculous.

Midfielders. We need physicality and technique. Someone more experienced with a skillset similar to Mainoo.

Forwards. Also a definite area of need. Martial needs to go and we need to buy a couple forward players preferably with the ability to play out wide as well.

So I would go Jan window : A 40-50 million forward player, one defender and one midfielder for about 30 million each and do something similar in the summer with a higher budget and possibly one more player being brought in.
We’ve been in a rebuild for 10 yrs.

I’d stop buying the end product with plenty of tired miles on the clock…and instead invest in the younger, powerful, quick, strong, stamina and above all else…technical ability above any of our existing players

Romano says he has a release clause of around that value valid in January.
Under the assumption that he would want to come to the players graveyard that is current Man Utd.

For January

A striker with premier league experience around mid to late twenties for about fifty mil would be a dream

could do with a young centre back who will stay fit
This, a young destroyer who call play ball, a young box to box and a better young attacking LB than Malacia and Fernandez. Probably not getting all that for 200 but that’s the state of play at the moment

Maybe pay 200off the debt so FFP Isn’t as much of an issue going forward?

Why do people think Kudus would be gettable for £50m or so? West Ham paid £38m only a few months ago and he has been a success for them. We should have gone for him instead of Antony.

De Ligt is an obvious candidate for defense, seems to be out of favor at Bayern too so should be available for £60m or so.

We just secured a new long term shirt sponsor, I think we can probably spend 150-200m net. We often do, even last summer when our situation was dire.

2 Creative Wide forwards. A high pace ball playing, tough defending center back and a controlling midfielder.

I would be extremely surprised if his release clause is not at least double what West Ham paid, and probably only can be activated after 2 years of service there.

Frimpong just renewed his contract with Leverkusen 2028.

Whoever I bet on
Hopefully the OP is true.

Ideally, the club would also get rid of other players who are clearly not good enough such as Antony and Hojlund, but I would be delighted with the sales predicted in the opening post.

To answer the thread topic, I would try an English-record bid for Saka.

Guehi, Branthwaite, Paulinha, Kenneth Taylor, Cole Palmer, Sane, Toney.

Allow Trippier to join and captain his boyhood club, while grooming Mason Mount to succeed him as a rightback.

I’d say we need some new attackers. Ours are all predictable and can’t do nothing proper with the ball. Still need a proper DM. Someone that can dictate play and speed up the game. Also someone that can control a game.

Young players with promise.
This all fecking day

Build the next generation. Mainoo and Garnacho could be great PL players if managed properly. Højlund shouldn’t be written off despite his poor start. United could be frightening in 4 years time if they throw their focus behind youth

As much as I’d like a new CB, RB and probably a wide forward I think right now I’d put all that 200mil in to rebuilding the midfield. We need people that can carry a ball in there as well as having the athleticism to get back. Also having the ability to find their team mates with a pass would be a novelty.

Only Mainoo seems fit for purpose and I think it would be interesting to see him alongside Casemiro if he comes back and gets to some kind of previous form but I’d probably look at Kone, Onana then someone like Zaire—emery from PSG, then make a move for Xavi Simons

I’d spend the next 200mill on a top class CB to replace Varane. A top class DM to replace Casemiro and a CM to replace Bruno and give more balance. Two top class midfielders and Mainoo and we’d control games. Martinez and a Varane replacement and we’re more solid.

Personally think ETH needs to be given until the end of the season with the current squad he's built. If he can't achieve what he set out to achieve with what he's currently got then he should be sacked in the summer.

The 200 million should be spent more wisely, rushing into buying a played having a purple patch in the Bundesliga stinks of panic buying to me.

Get Guirassy for cheap in Jan.

In the summer (release clauses per interwebz):

Todibo -€40m may do it?
Frimpong (€40m release clause)
Zubimendi (€60m release clause)
Kubo (€60m release clause)

That’s probably a tad over €200m euros/right around £200m, if those release clauses are correct.

I’d also sell Bruno and/or Rashford and add Wirtz and/or Boniface.

Basically buy Sociedad and Leverkusen and bring ol Xabi Alonso in while we’re at.

Meh... more interested in sales, reset the wage structure and get off the dumb ffp limitation band wagon.
As for signings, just don't act out of desperation..

That's one way to end the club.
Come on.

He'd make it back in shirt sales in 10 minutes, we all know that's how it works.

Also he'd entice a whole load of those fans who just support whatever team their favourite player is on for a few years. Would probably make 400m back in about 2 days, then you spend that extra 200m of the other few players.

For all windows we need to shift our focus to players with the right mentality.

I’d have the scout out high, far and wide, looking for players who drag their team through games, who show leadership and fight for every battle on the pitch no matter if they’re winning or losing.

The mentality / leadership of the target player should be given priority as those of the types of player we need. Players good enough technically are relatively easy to find, we need those who have the right mentality, drive and passion for lead the team.

Positionally I’d concentrate on a CM to partner Mainoo, a CB to replace Varane, and a stone cold finisher.

I love that we've all seen the difference that Varane makes, how awful ETH's tactics are, how he's frozen his best defender out, and have decided that the way forward is to dump Varane and keep ETH, and buy more players of the amazing calibre and prefect-matchprofile of Antony, Mount, Amrabat, and Onana.

Agree with most of this but I would not sell Bruno. If we improve the team he is an excellent attacking mid and one of the most creative players in world football, most of his issues stem from being bounced from attacking mid to central to RW, often in the space of one game. If you add in that he is the only creative force in the team it puts a ton of pressure on him every game to try and win it on his own.
