I recall something about that actually, but the main reason they left the follow-up album so long was because they were out getting blitzed off their royalty cheques. They were in dispute with Silvertone I think, with a long court battle played out.

This is all true, and the Roses had self destructed by the second coming period - in a sense Oasis had indeed stolen their crown. I think it's quite a narrow age-band of people who hadn't heard of the Roses or the Beatles before Oasis put them on to them though.

Nearer than Altrincham. Alderley edge is a town in the country a good 10 miles further out and Bollington's another 10 miles on that - pretty much part of Macclesfield!
Some cutting stuff with the Thai takeaway and merc references though. Is that what's posh down under?
