The difference in media reaction between Nirbhaya and the Hathras case is stunning.

Thanks, bhai for the link.

Truly shocking and depressing listening.

Hope and pray enough people speak out on these injustices and bring back the truly India we all love. Fairness, equality and justice for all citizens.

Second this. The international community needs to address and criticize the current regime, the development is really worrying.

‘No video of Munawar Faruqui insulting Hindu deities,’ say police two days after arresting him
Fellow comedians showed their support for Faruqui on social media.

The Indore Police on Sunday said they had no video evidence to show that comedian Munawar Faruqui insulted Hindu deities during a performance at a cafe in the city, The Indian Express reported. Faruqui had been arrested on Friday for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

Kamlesh Sharma, the town inspector of Tukaganj Police Station, told the newspaper that the video submitted by the complainant showed another comedian making jokes about the deity Ganesh. “There’s no evidence against him [Faruqui] for insulting Hindu deities or Union Minister Amit Shah,” Sharma said.

The complaint against Faruqui was filed by Eklavya Singh Gaur, the chief of Hindutva group Hind Rakshak Sangathan, according to reports. Gaur is the son of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Malini Gaur. Faruqui was also accused of making derogatory remarks about Shah, and of allegedly mocking the kar sevaks who were killed in the Godhra massacre of 2002.

Varun Grover, the writer of critically acclaimed web series Sacred Games, also shared the video of Faruqui on his Instagram story. “A fellow Indian, a fellow comedian is in jail and got beaten up by a mob because of the words he uttered,” Grover wrote. “Here he’s trying to logically, calmly present his case but our systems now just want to brutally silence every voice.”

Grover added: “They don’t want to hear, they don’t want to even argue, they want to simply erase every shred of individual thought, every iota of reason. And we the people of the greatest civilization of earth are ok with it.”

Besides Faruqui, four other arrested persons were identified as Nalin Yadav, Prakhar Vyas, Edwin Anthony and Priyam Vyas.

They were booked under sections section 269 (unlawful or negligent act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and other related provisions of the Indian Penal Act.

Protesters Who Dropped Cow Dung Outside BJP Leader's House Charged With 'Attempt to Murder'
Protesting farmers demanded that the charges be dropped, as nobody was attacked or injured.

New Delhi: A group of protesters who are reportedly angry with the Centre’s new farms laws had recently unloaded a truckload of cow dung in front of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Punjab minister Tikshan Sud’s house. Now, the police has charged them with ‘attempt to murder’ and other sections, and created a four-member special investigation team (SIT) to probe the matter.

Those protesting against the Centre’s contentious new farm laws have been angry with Sud after he recently said that the protesters were “having a picnic” at the Delhi borders. Sud also claimed that the farmers didn’t understand the laws they were protesting against.

According to the Indian Express, after the incident on January 1, a case was filed against unidentified persons under six sections of the Indian Penal Code — 307 (attempt to murder), 452 (house trespassing), 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 148 (rioting) and 149 (unlawful Assembly) of IPC.

Amid reports of I-T probe, Diljit Dosanjh shares 'Certificate of Appreciation' from Income Tax Dept
The complaint accused Diljit of illegally receiving funding from UK and Canada.

Popular singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, who joined farmers protest at Singhu border in December and reportedly donated Rs 1 crore to purchase warm clothes for the lot, is now being probed by the Income Tax Department.

Reacting to the news of an I-T probe, Diljit shared an image of a certificate of appreciation bestowed upon him by the Ministry of Finance for his contribution towards building this great Nation.

He wrote, “Ah Lao Fadh Lao Mera PLATINUM CERTIFICATE “In Recognition of the Contribution Towards Building THIS GREAT NATION” Twitter Te Beh Ke Apne Aap Nu Desh Bhakt Dasan NAAL Tusi Desh Bhakt Ni Ban Jande.. Odey Lai Kam Karna Penda..”

After addressing the crowd in Punjabi, Diljit shared his views in Hindi and said: "(I am) Talking in Hindi so you don't have to Google."

He urged the media to show how the farmers are sitting peacefully. "Show the reality. There is no khoon-kharaba (bloodshed)," he said.

"Muddon ko na bhatkaya jaye. Koi khoon kharabe ki baat (nahi ho rahi hai). Twitter aur bahut sari baatein hoti hain. Ghumate hain. Hum haath jodhke ke yeh vinti karte hain ke yeh hi dhikhaya jaaye, and yeh ke hum sab peaceful baithe hain (there are attempts to divert the issue. There is no violence. We request you to show that things are peaceful here)," he said.

If the latest news of Trump being banned from Twitter and Facebook’s hate-speech Rules; then surely similar rules should collide with politicians who peddle worse than Trump has ever done?

Hope politicians in India are taking note.

It is obvious that both Facebook and Twitter made the decisions after Trump was absolutely out of power.
Both the social media would allow peddling any kind of lies as long as money and influence is good for them. So no threat to Modi and his minions

Facebook and Twitter embraced liberal ideals because the far right cultists lost power. As long as BJP is the ruling party, Zuckerberg and Dorsey will do jack shit about the hate speeches on their platform.

Yes, but in this case its probably SC passing this judgement to get the protests to fizzle out.
I am No Government supporter but SC is clearly out of line and setting up wrong precedent with this , Supreme Court has no business in meddling with policy making it should only determine the constitutionality of Laws nothing more .

The SC can't stay laws passed by parliament because legally they are presumed to be constitutional until argued and shown otherwise at the initial stage. Which brings us to the fact that there were never arguments put before the SC by any party claiming that prima facie the farm laws are unconstitutional, therefore it is legally absurd for the SC to stay the laws in light of the above facts. End result, the status quo of the laws not being temporarily suspended was against the interest of the govt since if they rolled back the laws themselves they would look weak while at the same time they wanted the protests to die down, therefore the SC was roped in to suspend it, so the protests can be stopped and the govt doesn't lose face.

The SC has been compromised, it does the bidding of the govt. For example in the CAA and love jihad cases it was argued that the laws are unconstitutional and therefore should be stayed till the SC passes a final judgment. The SC said they will not stay it at this stage and that let the case be argued fully, then they will decide whether it should be set aside or not. Subsequently, both cases were shelved down the pecking order and will not be decided until the 2024 elections are over. End result, the status quo of the laws being used for political reasons benefits the govt. Similarly, in the habeas corpus cases of the persons arrested by the govt, the SC keeps adjourning it until the govt has had its with the arrested people. Bare in mind, in habeas corpus the SC and other courts are supposed to adjudicate swiftly, there are many judgments of the SC itself which say so.

Bottom line is that the SC will do whatever the govt wants it to do.

Really something else.
Fecker knew top military secrets and was discussing them on Whatsapp. Any other country, he would've been tried for treason.
In Akhand Bharat no one cares.
He had journalists stationed hours before pulwama happened, same with balakot and article 370.

No one cares about national interest and never did, see how China has gobbled up land in ladhak without anyone giving a flying feck. It is a cult of personality manufactured by the bent media peddling fake news and propaganda.
