BJP/NDA were almost certain to win.. the only question is if there will be a decent opposition.. Congress got 44 seats last time..

If Congress/UPA (whatever they are calling it now) can get close to 200, it'll be a decent showing..

If its closer to 100, it'll be a huge failure for them.

Given the consolidation of wealth by BJP, it's very much impossible for any other party to compete against the propaganda anymore.

Even now the meetings with other parties are being done by Sonia and not Rahul. She was supposed to be on her death-bed some years back and has barely campaigned even in her home constituency.
What is the point of him if he cannot even meet Maya/Naidu/Mamata/KCR?

Honest to god the people are tired of this family and the clown prince. It won't ever happen but project a new face and things will improve. Many voters of BJP vote due to lack of a proper alternative.

Even if they're presented with one most of them still won't. How would you explain atishi losing ?

If you actually compare Modi's and Gandhi's interviews, Gandhi comes across as better suited to be PM. It's mainly due to the impressions that have been formed of him from 2014 and subsequent trolling that he has faced due to which people don't think of him as a PM material

I *hate* Modi and have no special dislike for Gandhi, but his interviews this election got on my nerves. To his credit - he did interviews, with sometimes hostile reporters, with no set question/answers like Modi had prepared. But he talked some rubbish, not answering questions or letting the reporter speak.

The one interview Modi did without prep was this one, and I actually liked it because it revealed his thinking, insecurities, motivations: https://indianexpress.com/elections...ss-live-lok-sabha-elections-2019-bjp-5723186/
He even seemed to have a spontaneous joke.

In RG's interviews I couldn't believe a word coming out of his mouth. "Janta ke haath mein hain" was his answer to every qs.

Let's not use Modi's script as the truth here.

Where are you from mate in India?
I divide my time between Pune and Mumbai. I'll probably be one of the first customers for the Hyperloop if and when they get it running.

As expected, the fascist clown will be PM for another 5 years. All hail the RSS and their terrific ideology.

BJP winning is hardly a surprise. It's not because Modi is some messiah but because Congress are dumb to project Rahul as their face. Many people in Delhi are not a huge fan of Modi and yet they voted for BJP because they know Rahul as PM is a bigger joke.

I think its good congress looses this for a greater cause. Enough of Rahul, Sonia. Get a new leader who can bring back Congress to its glory. It won't happen under these gandhis for sure.

The last time they had a non-Gandhi was Sitaram Kesri in the 90s and they were equally dismal, in fact it was Sonia's return that revived the party.

There is something deeply wrong at the core of that party.

This congress MLA is talking about a different issue, but I think the problem he highlighted is the same everywhere.

the leaders have not been following party ideology. The party has a unique ideology. We are true democrats and we believe in the Constitution. Unfortunately, the leaders, for their own personal greed and lust for power, have lost the ground

They said the same five years ago. 'maybe losing in such a humiliating manner is good for Congress'

I'm resigned to RG being the face of the opposition five years later as well. Still probably styling himself as a youth icon at 53. Still running the campaign as an outrage to another jet scandal with no focus on his own ideas.

Pragya Singh Thakur disrespected Karkare and Co, claimed to use cow urine to treat her own breast cancer, said Godse was a hero for killing Gandhi and is prime accused in a terror attack. And us Indians made her a Member of Parliament.

This country deserves whatever it gets.

Looks like Congress is going to improve it's tally by only single digits, while simultaneously screwing up the prospects of other non BJP parties. This is monumental failure, much worse than last time.

The fact Rahul won't step down after another big defeat is the reason why I hate Congress as much as BJP. I called it before that this loss will be on Congress. They failed to beat BJP in head to head states and didn't cede space to regional parties in others.
