Internationals November (Euro Qualifiers)

I’ve never seen TAA have a good game for England.

I shake my fist at the TV everytime a United player hits a free kick. Used to do the same with Beckham but in different circumstances.

It was a foul but it was also one of those where the player has lost control of the ball and was never getting to it. Refs tend to ignore those.

Everything Rashford does right now absolutely reeks.

Ukraine robbed of a penalty in ET

Not sure, leg was stuck out but Mydryk went down under minimal contact.

Gripping for a 0-0. Ukraine played their hearts out but they don't half take endless touches around the box. Need to be coached to get the ball out of their feet quickly and then either get a shot in or shift it out wide. Just ran into Italy's massed defence so often.

San Marino have scored 3 games in a row now?

How is Rashford in this England squad? Absolutely atrocious "footballer"

I don't see what he does. City seemed to have coach everything out of him. He falls over that is it.
And then Rashford comes on to show us how much worse it can get. At least Grealish wins free kicks, can pull off the odd 1-2, play channel balls and the rest. Pep has just coached most of the real spontaneity and odd moments of worldie-play out of him in favour of 'systems'. Rashy is a whole different low....

I don’t know if that is reassuring or worrying as a United fan? It’s worse if ETH is somehow stifling a world class player, right? If he was on fire for England that would be a big worry. Although if this is his true level as a footballer that’s pretty catastrophic too. Caught between a rock and a shitty place.

It’s no more so than last season surely? This is easily the worst period of form in his career, last season the best. His level is probably somewhere in the middle but for whatever reason he’s very inconsistent.

Maybe. On the other hand, if it's a longer-term psychological thing (to be generous) or attitudinal one (to be less generous), then there have been other players who sparkled in their early 20s or beyond then went off a cliff because they lost their focus/drive or there was something underlying which translated to their decision-making and even to their technical ability until they looked shadows of themselves. In which case, he might not 'recover' any time soon, and certainly not without a new start, possibly away at another club.

I guess so. But the optimistic take on his inconsistency was that maturing and getting over his back injury would kick him up a level and last season was only a taste of much better things to come. For him to go backwards at this age is… not good at all.

We are going to the EUROs finallyyyy!! What a massive win for this generation of players, been a long while since we qualified.

Back from the cinema to see the last 6 minutes of the game, Rashford lost the ball a few times and also managed to run the ball off the pitch without even being challenged.

What the hell is going on with him, he's completely collapsed as a footballer.

Looking forward to Sesko in a major tournament, can see him scoring a couple in group stages and then getting a big move the season after.

Whoever gave channel 4 football and didn't demand that they bring James Richardson back to the studio and put Peter Brackley on commentary, is a total idiot.

Fecking Joe Cole and Dion flipping Dublin. The whole thing is just garbage.

The football just made it worse.

You’d think Coles inability to finish sentences would be a hindrance to him getting punditry jobs

100% on James Richardson. Why have BBC never considered making him host of MOTD whilst sipping gelatto.

Brackley would be difficult, though. He's bench pressing concrete.

That’s so weird. Ingerland game is on Channel 4 but they aren’t showing it in Ireland. Instead they’re broadcasting a blank screen saying “program not available in your area”. WTF? It’s not available on any other channel either. So why geo restrict it?

You were better off mate.

Yeah I know, if they dug him up he'd still be more interesting than Dublin and Cole.

Maguire’s going to continue making mistakes sadly, his overall ability is tarnished with weaknesses and bad habits which he shows no sign of improving upon even though he’s had chance after chance, and with encouragement from sections of the media and Southgate in particular.
I fear a mistake similar to the one he made (and got away with) last night, will ultimately cost us in next years finals.

Feel for Maguire a bit with the pen shout. Yes it's a poor pass initially but he fouls because his studs get stuck in the turf.

He's also actually been pretty decent for us recently too.
