No team in particular
What game did you guys watch?

We did play alright, with Pepe out we were always going to give them chances given we have no good replacement but offensively we created a lot more chances than I'd have expected against France. There's no other national team that won't be second best against this french team when they're playing like they did today.
The same game as most people judging by the general reaction. Portugal played a bit better in the last 15mins, France should have scored at least 3 in the first half.

France hasn't played like this in a really long time, and IMO a poor Portuguese team allowed them to dominate like they haven't done in a long

They were slightly better overall. Hardly dominated though when we end the game with more shots, double the corners, same amount of possession and big chances.

They'll dominate pretty much any other european team as long as they're taking the games as seriously as did they today, I'll be very shocked if they're not European champions in a few months.

How come Isak never seems to start for Sweden, benched again for Marcus Berg. :annoyed:
Berg is slightly underrated in my book. He is not as exciting as Isak or Kulusevski but he is experienced, intelligent and works very hard for the team which makes the players around him better. Similar reasons why Dechamps played Giroud a lot in spite of more exciting and eyecatching options.

Switzerland drawing yesterday and losing the friendly on Wednesday against Belgium means the pot 1 seeds for the WC2022 qualifiers will be definitive if the Netherlands beat Bosnia tonight.

It is funny how Germany still could finish as group winner even though this is the poorest I've seen of them.

Squad against Bosnia for the Dutch team: Krul; Dumfries, De Vrij, Blind, Wijndal; Klaassen, Frenkie de Jong, Wijnaldum; Berghuis, Luuk de Jong, Depay.

Which means that Donny van de Beek is dropped to the bench in favour of Davy Klaassen (who has been outstanding the last few weeks). Quite remarkable how fast things change in football.
A half year ago nobody would have understood when the coach would play Klaassen over Van de Beek.
His place in the Dutch team as a potential starter is in jeopardy if his struggles in Manchester continue.

Yes, he's really struggling isn't he.

Danny Ward's kicking has stood out as being absolutely shocking over this past couple of games, and I don't expect a squad player in this Wales side to look much better than League One level, either.

Would be surprised if it doesn't cost us in the very near future. :(

Dan James gets in really good positions quite a lot but always seems to make the wrong decisions

Georginio Wijnaldum scored a brace to put Netherlands 2-0 up.
It should have been 3-0, a goal by Luuk de Jong disallowed for offside while he was on a yard at least.

Netherlands playing fantastic football. Bosnia has no answer for the position switching.
Berghuis and Depay coming inside to provide creativity, backs Dumfries and Wijndal (very promising youngster) overlapping.
Wijnaldum always going deep into the penalty area, while Klaassen en Frenkie de Jong control the midfield.

I wasn't too fond of the appointing of Frank de Boer, but he's doing a great job so far.

We're really good today for a change.

It is also quite apparent that football without VAR is silly. 2 utter brainfart decisions easily correctable by var this first half.

Mount plays great in mid-week as an 8 now Southgate plays him on the right of a front 3. :houllier:

Why is that confusing? Mount has equally had good games in the position he's starting tonight.

Can only imagine Southgate has changed it because Belgium will have a lot more of the ball than ROI the other night, thus the need for a more disciplined midfielder in Henderson.

If we're in need of a goal, we have the option to drop him in as an 8 and put on another attacking player.

That's a woeful England side. Far too many good players to be playing 5 at the back with 2 holding players in front of them.

England have all these attacking players and we’ve got 2 holding midfielders and 3 centre-halves. Really not sure about some of Southgate’s selections.

Which games are they? I think Mount is a really good player as an 8. He looks a lot better there.

Rashford out due to his shoulder injury? Any idea when he'll be back? Also, how does AWB not make it to the squad.
Because there's better options, fullback you can maybe use the argument of his defensive side but not for wingback.

Back line looks grim.

Don't understand Southgate's love of Walker as a CB.

How sad that we (England) have to play such negative tactics in a game like this! No one really cares about international football so just give the fans some excitement! Southgate really is dull as dishwater
