Rising Pune Supergiants. What a name

RCB have a shit team as usual. They should get rid of AB or Gayle and buy some decent spinners.

Rooting for Delhi because they've a good number of young Indians plus Dravid is their "mentor".

Team Pune was named so because the owner's name in Rama Prasad Sanjay Goenka, and wanted RPSG in the name too. Weird fetishes.

Their team is very strong on paper. Too bad KP wont get a game. They have Du Plessis and Steven Smith as overseas batsmen, both of whom are better

RCB's top 4 is likely to be

Gayle
Watson
Kohli
ABD

Plus that young kid who looks a cracking player. It's a pity Kohli and ABD are ok at best in the IPL otherwise that's a ridiculous top 4

Kohli is a different beast now to what he was a year back, he has perfected the format. ABD is a bit overrated in this format but still an insane player.

Yep. If Starc is unfit RCB will be fecked again bowling wise. Chahal is good but after it's down to filth like that Varun Aaron and Binny.

Steven smith is not a better T20 bat than KP, not even close.

KP has been poor in IPL though. And Smith has been good for RR. Plus KP is 35. But in fairness he had a good BBL

Edit - talking about last edition.

In the IPL

Steve Smith = 2 50s Ave 34 SR 131 46 matches 961 runs
KP = 1 100, 2 50s Ave 37 SR 137 32 matches 928 runs

Steve Smith was probably better in the last IPL caus KP didn't play a game ;)

Looking forward to watch Iyer for DD. He's been sensational in domestic cricket. Should have been picked for the WT20.

oh wait he was delhi captain in 2014. Last year he left to play cnuty right? Holy crap, im getting old. KP was good for early RCB (the only player I liked in that team then). I want him to start too for what its worth - I dont like Smith and wish he played for RCB, the team I hate, but Smith and Faf were selected in the initial draft so I think Dhoni rates him highly :(.

Yeah, was supposed to play for SRH but left to play Country Cricket before the tournament started and then got injured. Also missed the whole 2013 season through injury and I vaguely recall him missing 2011 for some reason too. Gets screwed over a bit because he's English I think, which has meant even when he was available he's rarely been able to play a full season.

Anyway, am I the only one that thinks the IPL this season feels a little bit after the lord mayor's showy? Two of the better teams taken apart, and following on the heels of the WT20.

This is actually true. Only thing is the 4 foreigners rule makes it imperative to play Indian players so teams like RCB are going to be tested.

MI have a very strong overseas pool of players, with Pollard and Malinga automatic starters for them be hard for Buttler to nail down a starting place

Nah i think Delhi has some excellent young players. Karun Nair, Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer Mayank Agarwal and all. Though yes, they seem to have less quality batsmen beide this. More of all rounders.

Korbo lorbo jeetbo re. :D

I find it impossible to support a particular team either tbh, that makes the whole thing more enjoyable. Supported KKR and MI due to Dada and Sachin but with them gone, it isn't close to being the same.
