They also pretty much had an open goal when the Macedonian keeper played it straight to an Italian player. A lot of the chances should have at least hit the target too. I've seen England play worse and score a hatful.

Christ, as other posters have said, it's shocking how irrelevant Italy has been in the WC after 2006. Which makes the Euro title of 2020(21) equally shocking. I don't think they would have beaten current Spain in this 2022.

A podcast I listen to did make the point that Chelsea bought Lukaku for 100 million and loaned out Tammy Abraham and Abraham is basically doing what Lukaku did in Italy, while Lukaku is doing what Abraham did in England.They are gonna watch it on their TV set from Rome.

I feel exactly the same as you. Thought exactly the same when italy won it last year. I hate him based on the fact that I rated him so highly all these years and he wasted his whole career at that pointless club in that farmer’s league.

Laughing at their failure to qualify for a different tournament, a year later, has no effect on that, or England's enormous lost opportunity to win a major trophy on home soil.
