This is clearly massive news and it's clearly going to happen. Terms agreed and 15m euros away on the price. Even the doom-mongers are going to struggle to put the negative spin on this.
Yes exactly. Sounds like Dortmund's valuation has come down to ours, it's just haggling over add ons and payment timeline.

I'm weirdly not excited at all because it just seems a foregone conclusion and we already had the saga last summer. Delighted if we do get him, though.

Who made the official announcement and when? I must have missed it.

This saga is officially embarrassing now. It should end yesterday. Either United progress it the way transfers usually happen, or flip BVB off publicly and move to alternative targets. Sancho is not the only good RW in the world. We're a right laughing stock in the transfer market.

ah yes, Romano and Fjortoft ... just need Falk to join in and we've gone full circle with all the BS.

don't want to be negative, but feels we've heard all of this about 50 times already.

I always maintain tomorrow noon will be the one which the fee will be agree. Let’s hope it’s true ;)

I also think transfer talks between clubs are always more advanced and ahead than what they are willing to divulge to the media and journos

Hypothetically (and it’s happened with targets in the past) we stall on price too long and in the 11th hour, Chelsea just come in without messing about and meet Dortmunds asking price and sign him within a day

What would the reaction be now? Considering the heat on the Glazers / Woodward already

Even if you don’t want the player, you don’t want your clubs fecking around for a year on someone and someone else gets him

Long story short.. surely United have to wrap this up now because there will be too much heat if they don’t

More like 20-25M € for the base offer. You bid around 70M € and Dortmund wants 90-95M initially and 20-25M up front. Based on the reports I expected it to be much closer already. That's still a total difference of around 20-50M €.

James has played those 500 more minutes at RW because a) he has arguably the best performing LW in Europe ahead of him in the pecking order, and b) literally no one other than a teenage striker ahead of him at RW.

Amad is a very exciting talent, but he needs time to fill out and grow. Him taking Mata's minutes is probably the best next step for him, and he can gradually build from there.

I agree the DM issue is a big need, and for me, it's a toss up between the DM and the RW as to which is the bigger need, but rightly or wrongly, the club is prioritising the CB ahead of the DM. Though, at least we know that the club knows where the issues and are following a plan to fix those.

I just wish our useless owners would actually cough up the funds we make so that it could go quicker. If Ole got the players he wanted last summer, we could have been in for a striker/DM this summer and set ourselves up for a title charge or a proper run in Europe. Instead of being on step 2 of the plan.
That lw isn't going anywhere so if he is to get minutes it will probably be on the right wing and therefore to me he is for all intensive purposes a right winger in this squad. It's where he's had most of his minutes and will continue to have most of his minutes.

I don't completely agree the club knows where the issues are. Like I said we've signed a rw and a cb already and are looking to do so again. Dm a position of need since before Ole has not been addressed. They are following a plan I agree, I just think unfortunately that plan is kinda shite.

Agreed with the last paragraph, the manager has to be the one to put pressure on them though ( difficult cause of his contract situation i know), ultimately it is his neck and reputation on the line not theirs.

If €90-95 m is guaranteed sum demanded by Dortmund and additional €20-25 m on top of that in add ons then I don't think this deal is going to happen .
Isn't that the sum which United walked away from last year I don't see United paying that ,€90-95 including the add-ons is the max I see United offering .

The reports are that they want 90-95 euros including add ons. We've bid 70 euros.

This will get done for around £70m + Addons I suspect.

So if reports re accurate we have finally put in a bid , we usually do not do that unless we nearly certain that a deal will eventually be done.

It will no doubt drag on for a a few weeks but this finally looks like it will get done , bar of course some unforeseen circumstance such as serious injury picked up in Euro''s etc. Might be in Dortmund's interest to get this wrapped up now ASAP.

I don't know, in the past days there were some reports/leaks that said you'd be willing to pay that. If so, then this deal gets through. I also thought it was unlikely after it seemed Corona really stressed you financially last year but those pieces of information suggested you could pay it.

The reports are that they want 90-95 euros including add ons. We've bid 70 euros.

No way. Dortmund won't sell a penny under what they demanded. Apparently the 80M € that circled around came from the fixed sum Dortmund want to earn themselves. It seems that if they get 94M € up front, 14M € will go to City immediately. To me it seems most likely that they ask for 94M € before bonuses and 115M to 120M € after bonuses.
