I heard from a bloke that once had a burger in Dortmund that United had offered Lindelöf and £40m.
Hmm...

Patrik Berger played for Dortmund when he had a child... therefore he technically “had a Berger in Dortmund”

And he says United have made an offer?!

It’s so on!!

To be fair to Jan, this transfer is still in the unlikely territory than it is likely, think that's obvious to everyone. But I'd love it if we can pull it off and have the last laugh. The 'you love to see it' memes will go up the roof.

I wonder if that source is sky sports. Sounds like Jan just looked at the news and saw that we were preparing to offer a 90m bid and made a guesswork based off of that.
I doubt any of these guys have any source what so ever know. A crumb of information comes out from somewhere and then they all pivot 5 degrees from that crumb.

The transfer reporting industry has had a shocker in this saga as they’ve produced zero information

or

actually cracked it by keeping all of us intrigued for months without anything actually happening!

I hope Jan will be blacklisted after this. He's been such a cnut.

Just close your eyes, forget your name
That grifter Jan knows feck all
He wakes up, checks out the lay of Twitterland and posts based on what seems the most likely at that particular point in time.

They all do. Do you really really think (you/anyone) that Edward fecking Woodward is sitting there telling his minions to let the various reporters / gossipmongers know where United are or are not up to in anything they do? Bill, phone your mate at the Express, Jim, have a word with the fat cnut at the Sun. As if.

Every reporter flings massive amounts of shit every window and some sticks - it has to by definition - but it doesn't mean they knew anything. They know feck all. Their job is to generate clicks for their publications, nothing more and nothing less at this time of year.

What's actually happening is that any given sport editor says to their United correspondent, "500 words by tomorrow Bob, please". And the shit is made up. And that shit spreads to other journos, and sometimes Jan Aage fecked Off* picks it up and considers the balance of possibilities.

All that said, this is very much on.

*You're welcome.

 Well I have my doubts on Fredrik A. Filtvedt.

He tweeted" Solskjaer has told Sancho that he expects the transfer to go smoothly " yet retweeted a utdreport tweet (from ESPN sources) suggesting "Borussia Dortmund insist privately that Jadon Sancho will not leave this summer, but that message has not been relayed directly to #mufc"

Does he know Ole or not? The guy is an absolute fraud.

I mean we can't seriously be so dumb to "test Dortmund" by bidding way under what they want for Sancho or can we?

The deadline was 10th August.

if we think we can get him for cheaper than their asking price 2 months later then we’re deluded.

once again, the deadline was 10th August.

I think we can. The corona virus outlook is much worse than it was at the beginning of August, when the uncertainity meant that things might go well for clubs...whereas now it looks bad with no prospect of gate receipt income in the near to medium term. This means that a club that needs income may decide that some income is better than no income.

You'd really hope not wouldn’t you

But as I said a couple of posts ago, with the theme that we wouldn’t put a bid in if it was to be rejected then this would leave one to believe the deal will be happening.

I look at what Eckner said in his tweet yesterday about still expecting Utd to bid and don't trust any of the numbers you have seen being banded about for the bid

I'm not saying United will get him. Good chance they won't.

But that means nothing to me. Doesn't make sense if they've told United that and United are still briefing that they're going to bid this week.

If I'm using my common sense, Sancho will need to go public in his desire to leave this week. Then Dortmund can say they had no desire to sell before the player asked to leave.

Who knows though. Let's see. Lots of twists this week I feel.
Yeah isn't the deal being negotiated involving intermediaries so that probably explains why they are so confident he is staying, still believe something is going to happen this week so not taking any notice of what is being said on the matter by anyone but reliable sources.

That doesn’t really make sense. They would be confident he is staying because they don’t want to sell him. If the intermediaries say ‘oh that’s a good deal we’d take it’ then Dortmund will still say no if they want to keep him.

If Man Utd is talking to BVB atm i am sure there will be a lot more whisper than it is now. I highly doubt there is any official contact between two clubs. This late in the window basically give no time for BVB to find replacement.

One or both clubs would have stated that by now.

Every reliable (and unreliable) journos have stated the opposite.

I guess when the transfer window shuts we'll finally find out who is full of shit.
Until next Summer when the gullible muppets forget who said what. There’s been a record number of completely fake accounts in this thread who will just delete all their tweets.

You may or may not be right.
Of course this would be BVB's response until the moment they blink, if they blink.
October 5th is a long way away!

Those "Sancho gonna be BvB player next season" comments

Do you guys think that if they sell him they can somehow defend themself because he has already played 3 or 4 matches and in my book that is being part of BvB next (that) season or am I being naive ?
People who believe such kind of statements might just as well believe that Santa is real.

Are you a Dortmund fan by any chance?

Transfer deadline is 5 October.

Honestly, pretty sure we’re just assuming he knows something because he’s Norwegian and says things we want to hear.

Pretty sure the 'deadline' was a load of rubbish. There never was, and never will be, any other deadline than 5th October.
Money talks, the right bid goes in, the player leaves. Simple as really.

What is your gut feeling on the transfer
Sancho is ours. He had a good pre season so we are getting a player who is ready. He will just slot in.

I don't know about many people here but am excited at the thought that with Sancho in, we can have a wildcard on the bench capable of turning the game on it's head, whether its Greenwood or Rashford.

It’s amazing how people can’t see through this arbitrary/ pointless/ fake deadline.

It was simply an attempt to get us to bid and bid big early. It didn’t work, and everyone knows that if we can strike a deal, the timing doesn’t matter.

He's been vetted several times on this forum if you do a little searching.

Ever since Ole joined his hitrate for United news have skyrocketed, early lineups etc.
He's interviewed Solskjær several times in the past, has worked for several big Norwegian sports outlets, and also for the official Scandinavian United supporter club.

He clearly will have connections of various kinds from all that.

People who think it's happening are football's equivalent to people who say "Fake news" to blindingly obvious evidence.

Dortmund do not have a replacement. They are making zero movement on a replacement. They're not going into the market with £120 million in the last week in a desperate attempt to get someone.

Get fecking over it.

I cannot allow myself to get excited about the prospect until we hear something concrete from a tier 1 source
