Whatever you do, don't watch this video... You will fall harder than you fell for your wife :(

He's not even at the peak of his powers. If the natural trajectory of improvement continues he should be a Worldie in a few years.

Ole has asked the club to buy some exceptional talent. Haaland, Sancho and Bellingham will be worth tens of millions more in success on the pitch and enhanced values over the years. Glazers and Woodward needs to quickly realise the club can make money with a successful team, a good eye for bargain transfers and not just sponsorships.

"Hello,

I'm on annual leave until 12th September.

Best,

Woody"

Dear Sir/Madame

Sorry but I'm away on annual leave for the remainder of the transfer window and for every transfer window after that for the rest of my days.

Regards,

just crowdfund the transfer. Open a gofundme and by tomorrow there will be £20M in there

Exactly. You could argue he’s probably 7-8 years away from his peak and his numbers are already incredible.

He’s just the perfect player for us in the perfect position, one that we’ve neglected for a decade.

A True talent fit to shoulder the no 7.

It's a shame we're not getting him.
Next summer when his priced is slashed, Real Madrid, Barca, PSG and Juventus will be in for him. Not worried about PSG, but the other ones have (for whatever unexplainable reason) better pull than we do.

He wants to return to England, none of those are English team.

Yeah one thing is for sure, if we don't get him this summer we won't be getting him next summer.

How often do we get the chance to sign a world class player, in a one horse race, when they actually want to come here? I'd argue never.

IMO if we don't get him this season we definitely won't get him next season.

There is absolutely no way we will have a free run at this kid two summers in a row. It just won't happen.

I fully thought last summer if we didn't get him then we'd have no chance, obviously no one saw what would happen this year coming, but it just shows you never know what's around the corner.

Certainly in a hypothetical world where we don't sign him (we will sign him) this summer, there would be more teams in for him next summer, you would think? But we still don't know how the world will look then thanks to Covid.

Highly doubt he`ll be so desperate to return to the extent where he`s willing to accept joining a team in the Europa League and with zero ambition to win when he can join much better teams as we are 100% not getting top 4 if we don`t invest seriously this summer. No chance we have another free run at a player like him.

This is why I believe the club has yet to walk away and still seem to be trying to work on getting him in this summer.

There's zero guarantees that he's going to be any cheaper next summer so it doesn't make much sense to gamble on next summer.

By that time, he’ll still have two years on his contract and why would Dortmund lower his price if he builds on the previous 2 seasons and has another strong campaign for them? Not to mention we can't predict that we'll be in as strong a position as right now in terms of league form and having CL football to offer on top of more suitors coming in to the picture like Chelsea or Liverpool.

I've felt like this either happens this summer for us or it never will just like with the Grizmann transfer. Unlike Griezmann, I'm certain we'll be kicking ourselves when he's challenging for a ballon d'or for the near future at another club the same way we ended up kicking ourselves over missing out on Hazard years ago.

Exactly. My thoughts entirely.

I'm getting bored of this saga, I think once the Champions league final is out of the way tonight, We might get developments next week in my opinion.

So Everton have allegedly put a £143 million price tag on Richarlison. £108 million isn’t looking so bad now is it you Glazer wankers.

He’ll go to Chelsea or the dippers next year. if Ole isn’t properly backed this summer then finishing top 4 will be a problem meaning NO chance of getting him next summer. The dippers are well run so may decide to cash in on Salah, if they do that, the Sancho is there’s to lose because the Klopp factor is so big. Chelsea will be around and a contender for him cause they’re primed for a top 3 finish next year and are demonstrating that they’re serious about winning the title again.

To be honest how the hell are Barca affording Sancho? I don't see them as a likely destination unless something big happens with Messi. Real possibly, but I still think they've got their eyes on Mbappe.

These things can change very quickly especially when Real or Barca give you a call.

Neither can afford him, and Real Madrid sure as shit isn't going to be breaking their transfer record on a british player anytime soon

I do understand your perspective and I don’t necessarily disagree with everything but in your first post you debated that next summers transfer fees will probably not be affected then in your second post you use Watzke‘s comments and with that reflect about the consequences and then you draw the conclusion that a credit of €60 wouldn’t be enough (to cover all losses) if the Pandemic continues. Is that correct?

If that’s the case then I agree with you regarding future losses. The uncertainty is why we’re debating as far as I can see it.

When judging Watzke comments I think it’s fair to say that he has to communicate against two different perspectives. Shareholders and supporters.

One part of the message is to keep the BD supporters satisfied and who want’s the club to stay competitive. (and who don’t like that English clubs buying their best players, unless they overpay) On the other side he has to inform the shareholders of different scenarios and they also wants the club to stay competitive but at the same time they look at it from a personal financial perspective.

Maybe it’s better for BD to keep their most valuable assets until the market goes back to normal but if their is just a tiny suspicions that the transfer market will long term shrink then your shareholders probably think that’s better to sell.

I think in the end that Sancho will stay another season but right now the uncertainty makes us all guessing.

My point isn't that next window won't be affected. It's that it won't necessarily be more affected than this window, because clubs already see next year's losses coming and they don't know yet when the bleeding is going to stop. On the other hand an end could be in sight by next summer (e.g. a vaccine proving to be viable), so there is a chance that clubs will be more willing to spend.

One quarter of Covid has caused losses of €45m, so yes I don't see €60m lasting that long.

Shareholder's influence isn't as big as you think. They don't have the right to appoint or dismiss the management. And most major shareholders are sponsors of the club anyway. Being perceived to be going against the club's management would defeat the purpose of their investment.

Just starting to see the earliest signs now from the UK press that attempts to reach a deal have failed. It won't be long before more reputable publications follow suit.
It s either the beginning of the end or else the calm before the storm

Not incompetency but a reluctance to spend the asking amount.
In a different commercial environment we’d have had this done by now but the worlds a changed place.
we never get things done early! just a new excuse for Woodward being totally crap at his job
