Hopefully there was a reason why he was subbed, and that being that he could start on Sunday. He usually has a field day against Chelsea, I don't see how he couldn't start really.

You need more to your game than just goals at the highest level. This is why Hernandez is putting in the work to add to his repertoire.Hernandez has proven he can score 20+ goals a season when he's played regularly. Welbeck hasn't.
Fergie seems pretty happy starting with 3 strikers at the moment so I do think Hernandez will get more games in the coming weeks.I dont want to get into bigging up one player by belittling another. Both Welbeck and Chicharito are very good players that will keep on improving, bringing different things to the team. Id like to see Chicharito get more game time than he did last season but that does not mean I want to see Welbeck marginalised. There will be plenty of games for them both given we will be challenging on four fronts this season.
Lol stupid iPhone auto-correctI quite like the name Fervid.
But you also need score a lot of goals at the highest level. This is why Welbeck is working on his finishingYou need more to your game than just goals at the highest level. This is why Hernandez is putting in the work to add to his repertoire.

No doubt. He's been playing from a wide position quite a lot this season though as we've got two other players who are quite decent at the 'scoring a lot of goals' thing. As good as Hernandez is, he doesn't have this flexibility. But you also need score a lot of goals at the highest level. This is why Welbeck is working on his finishing
We have Rooney and RvP, so we're not exactly short in that department. I'll be surprised if these two plus one of Welbeck/Hernandez play in the bigger matches but there you go.And you also need to score goals consistently at the highest level. Which is why I'd have Hernandez all day over him.
IMO we looked better with Welbeck in the team last season.Hernandez scored the same number of goals as Welbeck last season despite playing far less minutes. So he wasn't terrible by any means.
Didn't win us much though did it?IMO we looked better with Welbeck in the team last season.
And we looked better the season before that with Rooney behind Hernandez. It got us to a European Cup final and won us a league.IMO we looked better with Welbeck in the team last season.
Completely this. And we looked better the season before that with Rooney behind Hernandez. It got us to a European Cup final and won us a league.
I think our defence and midfield issues might have had a part to play in that. Don't you?Didn't win us much though did it?
Firstly, Hernandez wasn't quite at the same level last season. Secondly, City were a far tougher opponent than that Chelsea side - and we had played them and the mighty Schalke on the way to that CL final, so it wasn't exactly a great side that we had ourselves. There's no doubt that we were stupidly complacent in the group stage last season but I don't think that Hernandez would've made much difference as we weren't creating chances that he would've been able to thrive on. Again, I think our midfield and defence let us down way more than any of our strikers. And we looked better the season before that with Rooney behind Hernandez. It got us to a European Cup final and won us a league.
I'm up for that, every game would be 7-6I'm worried Ferguson might now think its a good idea to play Rooney, RVP, Hernandez and Welbeck in the same team
You mean not leave any strikers on the bench? Nah he aint that daft.I'm worried Ferguson might now think its a good idea to play Rooney, RVP, Hernandez and Welbeck in the same team
can't say it wouldn't be entertaining thoughI'm worried Ferguson might now think its a good idea to play Rooney, RVP, Hernandez and Welbeck in the same team
I have the same feeling. RVP gets more space when Cheech gets in behind the defence.RVP seems to be the perfect partner for him up front.
True, but I think we benefit more from Hernandez.they both have their qualities and detriments.
Exactly. And Cheech has scored in some of the biggest games we've had since he has been here.Hernandez has proven he can score 20+ goals a season when he's played regularly. Welbeck hasn't.
One again spot on. I bet if you asked Rooney who he likes playing with more he'd say Hernandez because he allows more room for him to work with. And we looked better the season before that with Rooney behind Hernandez. It got us to a European Cup final and won us a league.

Someone needs to post his interview with Sky just now. His answers to Geoff Shreeves were amazing!Another winning goal, big game player.
Love his interviews, fantastic attitude.
We don't care--Chicharito Hernandez
If he played for Arsenal I genuinely feel they'd be title contenders. He'd have so much fun in that set up which is all geared towards playing in a central striker...Delighted for him. Longterm I think he'll have to leave to get regular football. Its hilarious that teams like Arsenal and Liverpool are crying out for such a player, and he rarely starts for us.
