I'm so gorgeous they want to put me under arrest!
That's a really shite deal that Chelsea have agreed to, and I say that as someone who'd have loved us to get him on loan on reasonable terms.
Weghorst to score more goals than Felix before May. You heard it here first. We've probably reached the point where, if Chelsea show an interest in a player, that should be our cue to move on and leave well alone. Felix won't do it in the PL in my opinion.
What kind of deal is this from Chelsea? It makes no sense whatsoever. Where is the buy close at the end of this loan spell, otherwise this is insanity from them.
Chelsea are essentially burning 17 millions for Felix to play 5 or so months for them and use their facilities to 0 end. They won't get CL out of this(10 points behind fourth with 6 teams ahead to outperform for the rest of the season). So this loan move won't get you Champions league football nor will it get you the player permanently since there is no buy clause, then what is the point of this? Surely one does not burn through that money on Felix for the purpose of securing a top half finish on the table.
Can anyone seriously explain to me the upside and point of this loan? I'd have understood if they had the option to make his stay permanent at the end of the loan spell but that won't be(he's even to sign an extension before his loan move) or if he was given for free. Seriously what is this?
Agree with most of your points and think Felix is going to be a bad signing for us but come on, it's nowhere near "Mbappe level of investment" seeing as Mbappe is on around €4M a week.
But yeah even if that cost comparison was terrible it's still a shit load of money for someone who's very likely not going to be a great fit.
Now that we're out of both domestic cups, before Felix is even eligible to play we'll only have 19 league games left plus however far we get in the UCL. All added up we're realistically looking at 21-23 games left in the season and chances are Felix is not going to play them all so at £15M total his cost per game is going to be very high. Even if he somehow fits in I still very much doubt he'll score more than 5-6 goals from now till the end of the season so is £2-3M/goal worth it? Feck no.
Only way I can see this becoming a good loan signing is if he's actually great and we end up buying him on a permanent deal in the summer, but right now that seems unlikely. Or if he somehow fires us to a CL title which is even more unlikely.
Ten Hag wanted Nunez. Liverpool gets Nunez.
Ten Hag says he needs Gapko. Gapko goes to Liverpool.
Ten Hag says bring me Felix. Felix goes to Chelsea.
Feel bad for him, he is trying to get something going here.
He's cup tied isn't he? Meaning he can't play champions league.
You think Mbappe is being paid €4m per week in wages?
Isnt that a third of PSGs entire revenue?
You might be right but that seems crazy to me. I’d only ever seen reports of him earning €650k a week.
He is obviously a transfer tier-1 for the London teams.
He also obviously has an in with Boehly and that generally means quid pro quid.
A little nuance is too much?
No such thing as cup-tied anymore, hasn't been a thing for at least a few years now.
https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.c...n-e630m-gross-salary-at-psg-over-three-years/
Overall 630M€ over three years if the option for the third season is triggered.
Mbappe's base salary is 'only' around 1.5M a week but he also pocketed a €180M signing bonus spread out over the duration of the contract and will have a 'loyalty bonus' of €70-80M a year for every year of contract.
All of that adds up to €210M a year so €4.04M a week.
Does it occur to you that when he gets info from the clubs they will obviously put their spin on it? Such as the Chelsea project appealed, his source at Chelsea is obviously going to say that. It’s exactly the same thing when we get someone in and you hear the same things. It’s all just spin and PR.So tier one when it suits and Boehly's personal spokesman when it doesn't? Gotcha. I think I understand now
Ok cool you were looking at the total investment rather than just wages.
I must have seen the post tax figure mentioned in that article and thought that was his full wage.
Still insane that PSG can do that deal though.
I’m glad people are realising how much of a load of bollocks this tier system is. Utter nonsense. So tier one when it suits and Boehly's personal spokesman when it doesn't? Gotcha. I think I understand now
Yeah thats fair enough.Well every bit of money from that contract is going to Mbappe himself so in this case I think calling it 'wages' is accurate, even if they're trying to mask it as a lower figure with the bonuses amounting to much more than the actual base salary.
Also the bloke I was previously replying to was calling it "Mbappe level of investment" while counting the total figures for Felix, including the loan fee and salary, so it only makes sense to count everything with Mbappe as well.
Why do you care so much though it doesn't matter hes a good player who would help cement top 4. Criticism only matters if that criticism is applied objectively and at the end of the day United gets the clicks, negative clicks especially.
I mean how much is Chelsea receiving for their new manager spending hundreds of millions yet finding themselves in 10th, until recently hardly even a blip, why is that.
fixed it for youThe press said Ten Hag wanted Nunez. Liverpool gets Nunez.
The press said Ten Hag says he needs Gapko. Gapko goes to Liverpool.
The press said Ten Hag says bring me Felix. Felix goes to Chelsea.
Feel bad for him, he is trying to get something going here, but somehow made up stories keep falling through
I need to find my post where I suggested this as an option for them in the first place. So Atletico have chosen the player over the manager then?
fixed it for you
What's your point?Did the press say we was getting:
Eriksen
Malacia
Casemiro
Martinez
Antony
?
What's your point?
My point was the press make up loads of sht. So the exact reverse is that they are 100 percent truthful. One of us is wrong. I wonder who?The exact reverse to the stupid point you was making.

No sht! Who are you mystic meg? Out of the thousands of stories how many are true? 1 percent? 10 percent? And you have some secret power to know the truth! Ha! Give me a break Mystic Meg.Probably the person pointing out that everything that didn’t go in our favour is made up. But similar stories that did go in our favour just happened to not be made up.
There’s a lot of information out there maybe you just have an issue processing the sht from the not sht.
who’s disappointed now? The club would have got chastised if we were doing this deal & rightfully so!
Throwing too much cash on unreasonable deals hurt us badly in a long run. Although, I really like the player am happy that the club didn't make the deal under such terms even if they somehow could stretch the finances. However talented he may be there is enough risk attached to him at this point not to commit to a short deal like that without any option on clubs part to make it permanent.
Felix quite possibly made the wrong move (again). Arsenal, if not us, made a lot more sense but am assuming they weren't willing to throw so much money on a short deal as well.

I just love it when I see ridiculous statements like this. He has been playing in La Liga for 3 seasons and has never scored double digits for Atletico in a whole season. As a forward. Never. And he is suddenly going to come to the Premier League and "help cement top 4" with his goals? Right. The overrating of this guy truly is something to behold.

What i would love is to see who liked your posts, seriously what the feck are you on about. All i said is he was a good player who would help the team, which wasn't even the point anyway, imagine ridiculing some imaginary extreme you pulled out your arse while employing your own equally ludicrous language, indeed what could Joao Felix possibly contribute to an attack that is desperate enough for Memphis depay and a Burnley player, an attack that other than an inconsistent 18 year old is relying solely on 1 player to put the ball in the net...
But Atletico can always opt not to sell him especially if he does well enough to warrant Chelsea trying to buy him permanently. There are also talks of Simeone leaving at the end of this season, so he could always fancy his chances with the new manager at Atletico.I guess its a expensive test period for Chelsea to see if Felix is suited to the Premier League. If he is a success than they can still try to buy him in the summer and be sure that he wont be another flopped attacking player for them. They might not have an option to make it permanent in the loandeal but that doesnt mean they cant buy him ''the normal way''.

Yeah. I can't see any upside to this deal for Chelsea. Whichever way one looks at it, Chelsea gain nothing from this. Would make sense if Chelsea were in a chance for top 4, so his addition would boost the squad and help push for it but Chelsea are 10 points behind fourth which in itself isn't unsurmountable but the bigger issue is that there are 6 teams ahead that they'll need to overtake which makes the task almost impossible. It's an awful deal no matter how anyone tries to spin it.
Totally agree Jim
He’s a nice player with good potential but I’m happy the club hasn’t got involved in this kind of deal. It speaks volumes both United and Arsenal were on the same page with this one whilst Big Bollocks Boehly was quite happy to write out a blank cheque.
Thats just nonsense. Just because Darwin Nunes is more likely than Marcos Leonard doesnt make the Nunes story true. They could be both bullsht. Plus there are several nuances to every deal. Define interested? United probably consider 50 plus strikers. Maybe they even said to the agent 'Hey keep us up to date on Nunes.' Doesnt mean we were 100 percent in love with him and wanted him. He was just an option.Bro if you can’t identify truth between us being linked to Darwin Nunes and being linked to Marcos Leonard…
Again that’s on you.
It’s not mystical it’s common sense. Like seeing a message on your partners phone saying are you coming to see me again this weekend and you coming to the conclusion they’re not doing you over.
