This was brilliant by Mourinho yet it would go over the head of the average football viewer. By changing the position of the bottles he's subtly signifying a change in tactics to the team, had he shouted these orders West Ham could have reacted much quicker but by doing it in this fashion it allowed for the element of surprise. Secondly, doing at that point in the game with a narrow one nil lead allowed for the first of three goals to be scored. Furthermore, not only did the movement of the bottles signify a change in tactics but also had a much deeper artistic meaning which signified that Mourinho now feels this is his home. When you go into somebody else's home you wouldn't start moving things around but when you move into a new home and become comfortable there you start to change things your liking. I can see this moment be looked at as one of the most pivotal in the season and it's a reason why Mourinho is one the best football managers in the game.

Wow, I read it completely differently. By aligning the bottles in the direction of the match, he was, in fact, ensuring that the positive energy could flow correctly. Hence our ability to move the ball up the pitch in such an efficient manner.

His understanding of feng shui is just another in his long list of attributes.

The feng shui was all wrong, your home is a reflection of you. By putting the bottle against the line he was telling the players to fecking put the ball over the goal line.

My experiences with fan commentary with Team:

- Fans ignore management style. Jose does not try to play possession football ala Barcelona. His style is more considerate of defense and counters. In fact, it is more dynamic as it appears he would like to have several ways to play team given what is available. This is in stark contrast to possession football whereby there is no adaption such that there is no expectation to react to opponent.

- Opposing team that is weaker will play defensively. If opposing team
is stronger we will play defensive game. Please take notice. It is rare for one player to break through midfield. Either short passes or long passed. Please keep that in mind. Last season everyone on team was playing more defensively. When you shut out one player game changes (e.g. Hazard shut out, Chelsea lost 2-0 last season).

- Most of squad playing in positions that they are not strong in or not known for. Again, football that is adaptive and dynamic.

- Team was a LVG team that Jose had to mold into a Jose team. A lot of square pegs in circular holes. Team finally getting a Jose spine.

- Team has played very little with one another and in a short span has gone through different coaching regimes. Style of play is not consistent.

- Fans should be fair and realistic in expectations. Winning games we drew last season is good gauge of ability but expectations to win CL is unreasonable. Aim for it but be honest. PSG just dropped 200 mil on Neymar. The degree of competition is extreme. PL teams have to fight among six teams, other leagues don't. Concentration of top players is impossible in PL. We are lucky we didn't lose our attacking players.

- A lot of hate towards players that most of the time are following orders. Players don't want to play bad. If they do, management will bench them. Give credit where it's due. You can't blame a player for following orders.

His substitutions have worked very well against West Ham and Swansea. Moyes and LVG were often panned for their use of subs, so it's nice to see Jose making substitutions that are impactful.

Once again, the subs were spot on. All three had an impact, one assist and two goals between them, and basically won the game for us when it looked like we wouldn't find a way through. Well done Jose, and well done subs.

Story of the match for Jose is his inspired substitutions.

Leicester set out to get a point so we had a simple job: break them down. Got the job done. Fantastic start to the league so far.

The story of the season is his signings ... Lukaku, Matic and Mhkitariyan have been unreal so far.

First two games he put Martial on and he scored.

Today, he put Rashford on and he scored.

Very god subs from Jose so far.

Oh, and that suit...

Mourinho has looked much more like his old self this season. He has inspired confidence into the team. Substitutions that change the games in a positive way for us. It seems like the squad is behind him fully and from the sound of it him and Woodward have a good relationship as well. Hopefully he can keep this up and remain cool even when setbacks come.

He made a comment in his post match presser about how Leicester were dangerous against Arsenal and how he watched the game three times. Guy is a perfectionist

He's looking supremely self assured. Throwback to his first stint at Chelsea. These are great signs

Apart from his brilliant tactics, what I like most about him is how he has been an almost perfect ambassador of the club. Very classy, smart statements, Fergie like mind games and unexpectedly, really beautiful football. He has also managed the team pretty well. Now we know what he had in mind during those 'Miki', 'Shaw' and 'Martial' situations.

An Arsenal supporting mate of mine said both games prove Wenger is a fraud.

I heard/read somewhere that he did the hand greeting thing with Pogba/Lingard. Anyone got a clip of it?

Ah, it's De Gea and Pogba.

Terrible against Madrid but then he's never taken super cups very seriously far as I can make out. Great tactics in the league so far, just keep up the attack Jose!

I started to really like him. How he deals with intervies, other teams / managers, players is just brilliant. And we play very nice football finally

After Van Gaal, it's great having a manager who seems to make the right calls when it comes to subs. Even if you don't always agree with him it seems like there is a genuine case for each sub he makes.
