I still like him. No doubt he deserved to sacked and did make some bad signings. He still was our most successful manager over the last 7 years.

It’s true but also sad when you put it that wayNot much competition so far
Him saying he was crying for a central defender. He was allowed to buy two for what were considerable amounts of money for CBs at the time. It's his fault that not a single of the two CBs we bought were boot good enough for him. Both were purchased for fees you'd expect to be starters for the team.
Shame that the state of journalism is so poor in sports punditry. Would love to see Carragher or Neville challenge him on that and ask what he thought of Bailly and Lindelöf.Him saying he was crying for a central defender. I can't even stand Neville now. Prefer listening to Carra. But you're right, they wouldn't dare.Shame that the state of journalism is so poor in sports punditry. Would love to see Carragher or Neville challenge him on that and ask what he thought of Bailly and Lindelöf.
You accept that Lindelof and Bailly does not work as a partnership, Bailly is injury prone and Lindelof is weak in the air. He identifies the fix and then the board deny him, only to sign the same player the next summer.
Or maybe the deal couldn’t be done last year for many reasons including Woodward is an inept negotiator?
Yes Jose Mourinho was right about a lot of things and the board was shite and still is shite.
Jose's a pussycat compared to Conte. Then he should have sucked it up and behaved professionally like the other 99.9% of the worlds managers instead of throwing a hissy fit and begging to be fired while giving no shit to the club, fans or it’s history whist today admitting he deserved to be fired but still has nut jobs supporting him.
So wasn’t the problem with the team associated with the lack of fitness and under a Solskjaer pre season this would turn into a dynamic, fast high attacking pressing? Maybe the problem was bigger than that, really easy to come with magic solutions, the problem is how you solve it.
Have always known this was the endgame for Mourinhistas. We don't want him back. Thank youI wonder if all those who wanted Jose out are having second thoughts now. He is still available.
No. He's a snake oil salesman at this point who has built an effective cult of personality around himself. How self-respecting fans can still like him after the Sevilla debacle is beyond comprehension.I wonder if all those who wanted Jose out are having second thoughts now. He is still available.
SameI still fecking love him.
If the fans had believed him and turned on the mgmt, we'd be in a different position now. But no, there was the constant drumbeat instead that we'd just get a new manager and all these players would come good. After he took £35 million in wages, spent £400 million on wank and took a £30 million pay off. He’s like a footballing Robin Hood for the ages.
Yeah if he had free reign he'd spend over 600million and we'd still be playing ultra defensive football against the likes of Bournemouth we'd still be crap and he'd come out saying it's never his fault it's the players and that he needs another 200-300 million so he can replace those players he already bought...If the fans had believed him and turned on the mgmt, we'd be in a different position now. He played a big part in our missing top 4 and having a limited budget in the summer.. our net spend was around 80m. 130m of that investment you refer to went to the defense, which has improved this season. The summer the club decided not to back him for the CB he wanted then the club should part way with him. Mourinho is not the only one at fault for what happened last season. After another 200m investment this summer the result doesn't improve much so it can't be all down to the manager.
Did Lindelof have to miss a header just as they talking about him being weak in the air?

I would want the 2017/18 version of De Gea which was the main reason for the higher point total and finishing 2nd.I wonder if all those who wanted Jose out are having second thoughts now. He is still available.
Its quite funny if you think about it. How anybody actually believed Ole would do a better job than one the most successful managers ever even in decline.
Ole was supposed to be a stop gap. It was a well established plan to use Ole as a interim then grab a Poch / someone more established. Back fired as soon as he was given the permanent appointment.
He wanted Alderweireld actually. Maybe Maguire was also in his list, but it was definitely the older veteran that he pushed for. Jose fans just keep banging on about the one year later bit because of what he said in the studio. This, I couldn't stand Jose at the end but this is just unprofessional. We had a net spend of 30M the season after making 2nd. No ambition, negligence.

That's true, and we may never know the full details of what happened behind the scenes.Defender or not Jose needed to go but that transfer window put us back a bit. If they lost faith in Jose and decided not to back him he should have been sacked instantly.
Sergio Romero's signingTell me one thing that hasn't backfired since Woodwards in charge. Serious question.
Sergio Romero's signing
I know

Exactly and then turn around and say you want another £80 million plus add ons to replace you first mistakes.......
