Drink coffee before the game, order some testosterone on Ebay, call Dr. Phil... just do something to stop the snooze on the pitch, ffs.
 
Still seems to expect 5 seconds on the ball every time he gets it.
 
Hardd to see what out scouts ever saw in this guy. Hes got some talent but wants to play walking pace football. Move him on.
 
I thought he looked decent in his first couple of cameos, but starting to look like the shirt is too big for him - too many touches, playing too slowly, losing possession too often and a non entity without the ball - starting to fear for him having any kind of decent Utd career
 
His touch was horribly erratic and most of his little layoffs went to the opposition. Unfortunately, those are his strengths...
 
Type of performance that ends united careers. Shouldn't get any game time for a while.
 
Off to Juventus please. Don't want to see him in a shirt again.
 
I thought Antony was our worst signing ever, but nope this guy takes the crown. It's baffling how shite he is
 
I really wish he’d never have gotten those goals against Everton. It misled Amorim into thinking he was a professional footballer.
Thankfully on nights like tonight he could swing Amorims mind the other way very quickly.
 
If he had a bit of pace I might have more faith but he's too slow for a top club. Think he'll be moved on quickly and we'll look for another striker.
 
He is just simply not good enough. I'd rather someone on the pitch who is more mobile and tenacious.

We'd be so lucky if an Italian club is willing to take him.
 
Get the feeling he's one of those players that's fantastic on the training ground and the managers (EtH and Amorim) have tried to get him to replicate that on the pitch, play him into some form and it just isn't coming off.

For all the 'he's awful' comments there are moments where he looks a player and then other times it's just basic stuff that goes wrong. His intensity in the premier league is miles behind but I thought he'd look a bit better tonight. I was wrong.
 
Not great and he definitely took much time with the ball but I can't be too critical as our general play is so horrid. In the first half, it was fire a ball into his feet with 3-4 Pizen players around him and one already on his back.

It's not a new thing as it was horrendous under ETH but Amorim has got to improve our ball progression in the middle. Zirkzee tried but once again it's the shittiest platforms to perform. Hojlund did good today but I have no doubt if he started, the result (1st half) would have been the same.

We always play well and better when we are a goal down and start to play with more impetus. It's been the story of our game for years under multiple managers.
 
Just seems too Lethargic and slow, his touch and passing is also questionable (which supposedly were his strong suits). He just does not seem like a Manutd player. We had Berba who was the closest to him, but he was thrice the player and even he did not work out for us. Better cut him lose at the end of the season. Cash in his value, take a small hit, somebody from Serie A, would be willing to pay 25 to 30M for him, based on his league record over there and being in Serie A team of the season.
 
It does puzzle me that even his touch and technique are failing him. He really has excellent technique and a great first touch. And sure, he might be too slow to do that against Arsenal, but surely not against Plszszzscczszn?
 
Had a decent 10-15min and then just went back to much of the same we've seen this season, shit.

It’s not that far off to late stage Martial in that he can’t seem to move or do anything at speed. Agree with the others saying he wants five seconds on the ball every time. He’s technically good enough not to, so hopefully he needs a season to adapt.
 
I feel sorry for the young lad.
He’s clearly not going to make the grade in the EPL, being far too slow, lacking physicality for a big guy and hopeless when we’re out of possession.
He wasn’t helped by having a totally useless and disinterested striking partner tonight, so when he was able to lay-off the ball, there was nobody to feed it to.
Unfortunately, I don’t think we can let him go until we can secure another forward.
 
He might still have some appreciation banked with teams in Italy. I hate writing players off so quickly, but it's hard to see him ever fitting into an Amorim team, when he wants intensity from his players. If we can get some money for him, be ruthless and offload him.

The only even slight reason is both are forwards.
But they're so different in every way beyond that it's a very odd comparison.

Zirkzee reminds me a bit of a non physical version of Fellaini who likes his flicks.
 
My issue with Zirkzee isn't the same as with Hojlund. Hojlund isn't the finished product and needs to improve, same as Zirkzee, but they are both young so that makes sense. The difference is that I have no worries with Hojlund in terms of his physicality, pace, aggression, tenacity, he can hack it in the Prem even if his ability lets him down sometimes. With Zirkzee it's like he's moving through treacle the whole time, has no intensity, pace is sorely lacking, has a big size but rarely uses his physicality, so if his ability lets him down he offers absolutely nothing. One good run in the game and the rest felt like he was just standing around like a statue misplacing passes the whole game. Weak.

So unlike Hojlund I don't see how he makes it in this side playing like that, I don't think he can hack the pace at all.
 
Even when he has an alright performance, he still sticks out like a sore thumb due to his lack of pace and intensity. No idea why we bought him. Was he an Ashworth buy?
