Julian Nagelsmann | Sacked and replaced by Tuchel

If Ole gets better set up and we play well then he is going to be said to be better.
We lost in Istanbul under saf and we don't say he was worse than the Turkish manager?

It's not Ole vs Nagelsmann it's Man Utd vs Leipzig. Maguire probably cost more than their team combined. And then you add in Pogba, Martial, Fred etc.

Tonight will be intriguing for sure. I am not necessarily in the camp of replacing the current manager with Nagelsmann, but he is the new generation, perhaps the leading star as well. I do think he is too young to thrive at Old Trafford given all the politics involved, but you never know. Finland’s prime minister is 34, the business world is full of very young CEO’s - but that’s more down to brains.

The outcome today doesn’t really matter, we do have much better and more expensive players than them, but it will be interesting if he sets up and beats us based on our weaknesses. If he clearly does that and we struggle to counter, then his stock will only rise. It will also be interesting to see if our manager has the ability to change around if we struggle and they clearly have the upper hand. Time will show as they say.

I am a big fan of Nagelsmann, I really enjoy watching how he sets his team up, he has them working like clockwork at times and what's really impressive is how Leipzig can change formation mid game without you even realising,

To be this tactically astute at 33 years old is quite something, looking forward overall to tonights game but slightly worried, this will be trickier than PSG imo, if Ole can win this tonight then hats off, i know everyone jokes about Ole's first real test etc etc but tonight will be a big test !

Can't pretend to have paid much attention to his set-up but if he plays a high line like most German managers these days then we will be favourites if Ole sets up 5-3-2.

This thread will be fun tonight. Expecting lots of comments either the "FRAUD" way or the "schooled Ole big time, feck Woodward" direction.

I genuinely don't think he's all that. Solskjer will show him up.
We have a much better team.

But still, should be interesting to watch from a tactical viewpoint. We should be winning such matches though.

What does that have to do with Ole? Leipzig are a smartly run club, we are run by a corporate banker who is an absolute moron.
The team has to do with Ole and ours is much better on paper. Woodward isn't a factor in such matchups

It may be perceived as a big test but all things considered, Utd are favorites tonight. Better team and at home.

100%, no excuses, we should be winning this game with the team we have, but it's a test nonetheless, playing against a very good team that are currently top of the bundesliga, it will be a fascinating watch, I think Ole can do it though, he's shown this more than enough times already.

There could be a blood bath in this thread tonight..

Yeah this thread is gonna be brutal regardless of which way it goes.

If we win it's gonna be "Fraud!" "Hipster manager"

If we lose it's gonna be "We should have gone all in for him over the summer! Woodward is an idiot!"

It's not on Ole how much Maguire cost or how much Pogba cost. Leipzig have a defensive duo of Upamecano and Konate who xost how much? Is that on Negelsmann? Why did we pay 80m for Maguire when we could have had him for 16m 2 years before? On the pitch Ole should answer on how we set up and why would we fall behind a squad that is of no greater quality than ours, but how much their team costs is nothing to do with neither of the coaches.

We do overpay for some of our players but that doesn't mean the genuine worth (whatever that would be) of our squad isn't far far greater than Leipzig's.

Jose was 31 when he won CL with Porto and joined Chelsea so I doubt age is a problem.

We do overpay but the genuine quality of the first eleven is not that different imo. Then I am not sure what do you mean by worth to be fair, they played in the CL semis just couple of months ago, much of it is down to the manager but also to the team built even before he arrived.

Really?

I think our first 11 and bench are both better. They played in the CL semis because they are managed and run better.
